A Note From Dr. Compton A Note From Dr. Compton

Happy Sunday Pride!

Welcome Back, Riverwalk Families!

What a wonderful start to the 2026–27 school year! Our halls came alive again on Thursday, and these first two days back have been everything we hoped they'd be . . . . familiar faces reconnecting, new students finding their footing, and that unmistakable energy that only comes with the start of something new. Thank you for trusting us with your children, and for all the ways you helped get them ready for day one.

We're Here for You

One of the things I value most about our Riverwalk community is how connected we stay throughout the year, and that starts with communication. Communication from the school to our families, and from our families to us. If you ever have a question, a concern, or just want to check in, please don't hesitate to reach out. Our team is here and ready to help:

  • Elementary

    • Ms. McCray – Elementary Principal

    • Mr. Glenn - Student Services Coordinator

    • Ms. Carr – School Counselor

    • Ms. Secor - Literacy Coach

    • Ms. Robinson – Elementary Chief Smiles Officer / Lions Pride Program

  • Middle School/High School

    • Mr. Cannon – Middle School Principal

    • Mr. Ball – High School Principal & Athletics

    • Dr. Dempsey - Dean of Instruction

    • Ms. Teague – School Counselor (Last Names A–K)

    • Mr. Hosenfeld – School Counselor (Last Names L–Z)

    • Ms. Vernier – Middle/High Chief Smiles Officer

  • Schoolwide

    • Dr. Compton - Head of School

    • Ms. Mabey – Student Information, including Parent Portal

    • Ms. Mitchell – Special Education Coordinator

    • Ms. Bailey - Services for Multilingual learners

    • Ms. Burns – Food Services

    • Nurse Donna – School Nurse

    • Ms. Flynn - Title 1

    • Ms. Taylor – Technology Services

No question is too small, and no concern is unimportant. We'd much rather hear from you early than have something linger or for families to receive incorrect information from outside sources. Please reach out anytime.

Looking Ahead

We're excited for the weeks ahead as our students settle into routines, our teachers dig into instruction, and our whole community finds its rhythm again. Thank you for being part of the Riverwalk family. We couldn't do this important work without you.

In Pride and Purpose,

~Dr. Compton
