A Message from Mr. Macias
Hello Gladiator Families!
It was a short week, but it was an eventful one! Our Gladiators were showing off their talents on the cross country course, in the classroom, on the stage, the football field, and the volleyball court. I cannot express how proud I am of all of our students who competed or performed this week! We are excited to announce our new schoolwide fundraiser on October 19 through November 2! I have attached information on how to donate below. Each grade level will be in a competition to see which of them can raise the most funds. I know they are super eager to see me torture myself with the one chip challenge or by eating an Arby's Meat Mountain. Every contribution helps provide additional resources, programs, and opportunities that directly benefit our students, teachers, and campus. Here are some of the great things our Gladiators accomplished this week!
Cross Country
Our boys and girls Cross Country teams ran in the Meet of Champions at the Northside Sports Complex on Tuesday and both teams took 3rd place! Congratulations to all of the runners and to Coach Schantz and Coach Villarreal.
Theater Shows
Many of our Theater classes performed shows for parents, grandparents, and special guests. It was the first performance of any kind for many of our Gladiators. Great job, students and Ms. McFarlane!
Fall Band Concert
I thoroughly enjoyed hearing the musical stylings of our Honors and our Symphonic Bands. They play some spooky tunes and brought the house down with Ghostbusters! Thank you to our directors Mr. Cortes and Mr. Aguado. I can't wait for our next concert.
3RD Attendance Celebration
Students with perfect attendance for the last 3 weeks of the 9 week grading period were able to celebrate at lunch with recess time! They enjoyed some free time to play four square, soccer, basketball, football, and volleyball. We've been VERY close to hitting our attendance goal of 97% for the last couple of weeks, but we haven't made it yet. This next week is a great opportunity to be at school each and every day!
Football
Our 8th grade football A team got a HUGE win to end the season! Congratulations! The 8th grade B team fought hard and ended the season with tie. I watched our 7th grade A team compete until the last second of their game. Although they didn't get the win, there is still a possibility for them to make the Championship Playoff. Our 7th grade B team WON their game with a pick six on the last play of the game! Great job Gladiators!!
Volleyball
We hosted the 7th grade A team End of Season tournament while our 8th grade A team played at Briscoe Middle School. Our 7th grade girls won their first game, but fell short in the Semi-Final game. They had an AMAZING season and we are all proud of them! Our 8th grade team is the 2026-2027 District CHAMPIONS!!! They persevered after being down 14-9 in the second set to win in straight sets! Great job Gladiators!
Quick Reminders
Remember that our first bell rings at 8:30 AM. Many students are arriving in the student drop-off area after 8:35 causing them to rush inside before the tardy bell at 8:40. Please make sure you are arriving on time!
We have noticed an increase in students out of dress code. Please make sure your student does NOT wear shirts that include any alcoholic beverages, weapons, or cigars/cigarettes. Also make sure that their shirts are long enough to cover their midriff and the cut of the shirt does not expose any undergarments.
I can't wait to see what our Gladiators accomplish next!
