Dear Campestre Parents,
Wow! We are down to the last 5 weeks of school! Thank you so much for all your support and trust in Campestre. We are continuing to work hard and teachers continue to engage our Cobras in bell to bell instruction. Thank you for all your support and help in ensuring our Cobras come to school ready to learn everyday.🧡
Parents we ask for your help. We have seen an increase in student behaviors. We understand students are excited for the end of the year, but we still have 5 weeks of important learning to go. We have planned MANY fun events the next month to reward all their hard work but have had to remove the fun activities for some students with behavior concerns. Please help us in encouraging our Cobras to continue to try to make good choices and earn those amazing FUN end of the year activities. Thank you.
Thank you so much for sending scholars to school everyday! We have won for the third time the district traveling trophy for attendance. Our campus received funds to purchase incentives for our Cobras and we will be holding raffles in the next few weeks. CONGRATULATIONS COBRAS!
Cobra parents and guardians, please ensure you are picking up your Cobras on time. PK and Kinder dismiss at 2:45 pm daily and 1st grade to 5th grade at 3:15 daily. We do not have the personnel that is licensed for child daycare services to watch scholars for late pickups. Please ensure to make any necessary arrangements to pick up your scholars on time. We understand emergency's happen but Administration will be meeting with parents and guardians who habitually pick up scholars late. Thank you.
We ask for your support to help our scholars with the following:
read daily for 20 minutes (anything of interest to child);
practice addition & subtraction facts (Kinder through 2nd grade);
practice multiplication & division facts (3rd Grade through 5th Grade);
go to bed early enough to be ready to learn the next day; &
continue to communicate with classroom teachers
Please make sure to check our campus web page frequently at https://www.sisd.net/campestre and check class dojo for reminders and important information.
Our district will continue to provide breakfast in the classroom for ALL scholars. Breakfast in the Classroom, BIC, will be served daily from 7:30 AM to 7:45 AM. Please be on time to take advantage of the most important meal of the day.
Each day, please ensure that your child has their lunch with them or are eating in the cafeteria. Our campus is a CEP campus and all students eat for free. We need your support that they bring their lunch with them daily or eat in the cafeteria, especially if they have dietary restrictions or needs. Students have been bringing lots of chips and treats and not eating their lunches. Having a good lunch is fuel for the brain. Please help us in reminding your scholars to limit their snacks and treats and to eat lunch. We are encouraging them to eat in the cafeteria prior to going out to play.
If your child is absent, we must have a doctor's note or a personal note explaining why they were absent upon their arrival. For doctor's appointments, take your child to appointment, but bring them back with a doctor's note the same day and it will be counted as present.
District policy indicates parents/guardians have 72 hours to submit excuse notes justifying child's absence. Attendance in vital to our scholars success. Every day gone from school, they lose 7 hours of skills, strategies and support for learning. Help us by keeping your children healthy. We track attendance daily and will communicate with families when children have 10 absences & tardies to establish a Loss of Credit Contract. Our goal is for your child to be healthy and at school without losing credit.
We are so grateful for your trust and dedication. We are determined to help all our Cobras reach their fullest potential.
Warm regards,
Ms. Shreve

End of the Year Expectations
Our end of year is fast approaching.
This week, we will SHARE end of year expectations with our scholars, to include attendance, academics & behavior.
As we plan for the end of the year, we have field trips and field days that are considered as privileges for them.
Scholars must honor the classroom and school rules.
Scholars must TELL when something seems WRONG or of CONCERN so adults can assist.
Scholars must be engaged in school work and showing the best version of themselves.
Scholars must be present daily to continue to meet the grade level expectations.
Scholars must be engaged and participating in class learning and activities.
Scholars must walk quietly in the hallways.
Scholars must sit and eat in the cafeteria.
Scholars must clean up after themselves in the cafeteria.
Scholars must NOT GOSSIP or create RUMORS.
Please talk to your children about the importance of ending the year on a good note. We have scholars that are smart and know the difference between right and wrong.
Help them by coaching them to be HELPFUL instead of HURTFUL.
We thank you for your continued support.

Dear Parents,
As we enter May, it is crucial for children to maintain their best behavior. Please ensure your child adheres to the student code of conduct. Safety remains our top priority here on campus. We appreciate your support in reinforcing these values at home. By working together, we can create a positive and secure environment for all students. Additionally, we encourage you to discuss the importance of following school rules and respecting others with your child. This helps them understand the significance of their actions and fosters a sense of responsibility. Regular communication between parents and teachers is essential in addressing any issues promptly and effectively. Thank you for your cooperation and commitment to making our school a safe and nurturing place for all students.
Traffic safety
We kindly ask that during morning drop-off and after-school pickup, everyone remains cautious and patient. Ensuring the safety of our students is our top priority. Please refrain from honking to hurry other cars and avoid speeding in the parking lot. Your cooperation in following these guidelines helps create a safer environment for all. We understand that drop-off and pickup times can be busy and sometimes stressful, but maintaining a calm and orderly process is essential for the well-being of our students. Additionally, please be mindful of pedestrians and other vehicles, and always follow the directions of staff members who are there to assist with traffic flow. By working together, we can ensure that every student arrives and departs safely.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
Attendance
Attendance Matters! Please continue to bring your children to school regularly. We are entering the final competition against other elementary schools in the district, and your child's attendance can make a big difference! This is a fantastic opportunity for our students and teachers to win exciting prizes. Regular attendance is crucial for academic success, as it helps students stay on track with their learning and achieve their goals. It also allows children to interact with their peers, build friendships, and develop essential social skills. Consistent attendance helps establish a routine, which is important for overall development.
To help ensure your child is present and ready to shine, set a consistent morning routine, communicate the importance of attendance, and stay informed about school events and competitions. Together, we can make a difference and help our school win this competition! Thank you for your support and dedication.
What is the 90% Rule?
•A student in any grade level from kindergarten - 12 shall not be given credit or a final grade for a class unless the student is in attendance 90% percent of the days the class is offered regardless of whether the student’s absences are excused or unexcused.
•Loss of Credit -
•Students who fall below 90 percent will receive “LOC” on their semester report card, signifying the potential loss of credit.
•A student who receives “LOC” may consult with the Campus Attendance Administrator to be placed on an academic recovery plan to make up missed academic hours.
•A student who received ‘LOC” under extenuating circumstances may request a review with the Campus Attendance Committee. The Campus Attendance Committee has the authority to reduce or waive academic hours owed for “LOC” according to each individual circumstance.
If your child fell below the 90% rule we will be holding our LOC meeting with you at a scheduled time. We will reach out to you by phone to schedule a time and date.

ATTENDANCE - STUDENT ABSENCE REPORTING
There are three ways of reporting an absence. The easiest way is to send an email to attendancecampestre@sisd.net . You can attach a picture of a written note from you or a doctor's note. You may also send a note with your scholar, but email is safest. Either way, we must have an excuse note from you or your doctor.
Please include as much detail as possible:
- Child's name
- Grade
- Teacher
- Student ID
- Reason for the absence
As a courtesy you may email your child's teacher to notify them that your child will be absent, via class Dojo. Official attendance will be a note or email.
For doctor's appointments, take your child to appointment, but bring them back with a doctor's note the same day and your child will be counted as present.
NEW: This year, district policy indicates parents/guardians have 72 hours to submit excuse notes justify a child's absence.
