October in the Moxley Music Room
Happy Halloween!
Boo!
Sorry, didn't mean to scare you, I'm just writing to share all the cool stuff that's been happening this month in the Moxley music room. With many students having reached basic competency on their musical mediums, we have been working on original music making, as opposed to reproduction. In music technology and production we has been focusing on writing rap verses and continuing their sporadic study of hip-hop history. In Guitar, similarly, we've been songwriting, using the Journals you can find (and use!) below. World Percussion just finished up a fabulous collaboration with the WHS choir to perform indigenous Colombian Porro Music, and Collaborative ensemble has also been working on Hand drum rhythms, as well as some music tech. As the weather gets colder and colder, and the days are shorter, I hope music offers you consolation while the year darkens. Rock and roll!
