WSD BOARD MEETING REPORT

The Wentzville School District Board of Education held a meeting on Thursday, Feb. 22, that was live-streamed via the WSD Board of Education YouTube channel and can be viewed by visiting YouTube. The agenda and available supporting documents can be viewed online under Diligent Community. Below are some highlights.

Dr. Tormala, superintendent of schools, began the business portion of the meeting by providing comments and sharing District highlights. View the slideshow.

Rick Angevine, chief financial officer, presented the annual finance program evaluation. Angevine reported clean independent financial audit reports, balanced budgets, solid but not excessive fund balances, fully funded capital plans, and solid projection practices. He also highlighted action steps for a continued positive financial culture. The program evaluation is included in the attached presentation.

The Board unanimously voted to approve the REACH and Early Childhood Center Bid, as presented. This is the final step in approving the construction of this new WSD building on the North Point Campus. The Board previously approved issuing a bid document for the project on Nov. 16, 2023, per the 2021 and 2023 construction committee recommendations.

Congratulations to the three Holt High School students who were selected to the 2024 Missouri All-State Band: junior Riley Dreyer (clarinet), junior Bryce Herin (tuba), and senior Claude Sliger (trumpet). Read more.

Congratulations to North Point High School's varsity cheerleading team for making history by capturing the school's first-ever overall team state championship title in the Missouri Cheerleading Coaches Association (MCCA) competition. Read more.
