Valley View News- April 2026
Mrs. Hamsher, Building Principal
Hamsher Headlines
Once again we had an exciting month here at Valley View! Right to Read week was so much fun as we celebrated Dr. Suess and our love for reading. Our Character Strong word for March was Cooperation and we were able to team up with the other elementaries to complete our Domino Challenge Food Drive for Feeding Medina County. We capped off the month with our PBIS reward day as students who were exhibiting safe, kind, responsible, and cooperative behaviors all month were able to do an egg hunt.
Coming up in April we will be celebrating the Month of the Military Child. We will be conducting some fun activities including a Military appreciation breakfast and a school wide Military Hero's in Training Run. Valley View will host military families from the other elementaries and WIS to thank them for their dedication, sacrifice, and service. Our Run will be a joint activity with Isham. If you are interested in helping with our Military Hero's in Training (color run), please sign up here to volunteer for the Run. We will need help with setup, race time encouragers, and clean up.
We also have volunteer opportunities for More Alike Than Different Day on Wednesday, May 6th. Here is the link to sign up. If you would like to be Board approved prior to May 6th, please contact the office via email at hmusacchia@wadsworthschools.org for more information. Board approved volunteers must be background checked at Central Office. The cost is $50.00. Please let Mrs. Musacchia know once background check has been completed. Board Approved volunteers must be approved by May 5th.

Character Trait of the Month: COURAGE
Character Award Winners: COURAGE
This month, we will spend time learning about COURAGE. COURAGE is something we use when we stand up for something that we know is not right, or face a fear head-on. Finding our inner courage is so very important to grow as a person. Also, our first graders will be performing at our schoolwide assembly, doing a reader's theatre on COURAGE.
A Hero Among Us
Evelyn Young
Last year, Evelyn Young's neighbor fell and hurt herself pretty badly and couldn't get up or get to a phone. Her neighbor was yelling for help. Evelyn's family was upstairs and couldn't hearl, but Evelyn was downstairs and could hear her neighbor yelling for help and alerted her family. Evelyn's neighbor submitted Evelyn for the Red Cross hero award and Evelyn won! Here is a photo of Evelyn receiving the award this March.

We are currently seeking donations of children’s elastic wasted shorts and pants, size 5 and up, for both boys and girls.
