Dear West Seneca Central School District,

We are writing to inform you of two minor traffic incidents involving Bus 24 and Bus 38 that occurred earlier today. Most importantly, we are pleased to report that all students and drivers are safe, and no injuries were sustained in either incident.

Below is a brief summary of each event:

First Student Bus 24 Incident

Earlier this morning, Bus 24 slid into a small ditch on Fisher Road. As a standard safety precaution, West Seneca Police and a First Student Safety Supervisor responded to the scene.

  • Protocol: Students safely exited the bus via the emergency door and boarded Bus 21. All 37 Students were transported to West Senior for medical evaluation.

  • Follow-up: All 37 students on board were cleared by the school nursing staff.

WSCSD Bus 38 Incident

Earlier this morning, Bus 38 was involved in a minor fender-bender when a vehicle slid into the back of the bus. The WSCSD Transportation Supervisor and West Seneca Police responded immediately.

  • Protocol: Students were transported to West Senior for medical evaluation.

  • Follow-up: All 13 students on board were cleared by the school nursing staff.

Our nursing staff is currently finalizing reports. Nurses will be contacting the parents/guardians of all 50 students involved individually once documentation is complete.

We would like to extend our thanks to the West Seneca Police Department, our transportation teams as well as the West Senior nursing staff, for their quick response and commitment to student safety.
