🎪 The Greatest School Year on Earth! 🎪

September is here, and we are ready to make this The Greatest School Year on Earth! We are excited to welcome our families to Open House on Wednesday, September 23, from 4:30–6:30 p.m.

This year is especially meaningful as we celebrate the final year our current building will serve as an elementary school. In the years ahead, the building will become an early learning center serving infants through four-year-olds. As we prepare our students for an exciting move to their brand-new home, Skyview Elementary, our staff is committed to making this final year together one that our students and families will always remember!

🎟️ Open House — Wednesday, September 23

4:30–6:30 p.m.

We encourage all families to arrive on time. Open House will begin promptly at 4:30 p.m., and important information will be shared at the start of the event. We don’t want your family to miss a moment of this special evening!

Let’s celebrate this incredible chapter, make wonderful memories, and work together to make this truly the Greatest School Year on Earth!

🚗 Important Safety Reminder: Early Pick-Up

For the safety of all students, early pick-ups end at 1:45 p.m. After 1:45 p.m., families will need to use the car line for dismissal. Thank you for helping us keep dismissal safe and orderly for everyone.

This year, our school is embracing the theme Beyond the Classroom! We believe that meaningful learning does not stop when students leave their classrooms. Through engaging experiences, community partnerships, school events, hands-on learning, and opportunities to build relationships, leadership, and character, we are committed to helping our students grow in every way.

Our Beyond the Classroom theme represents our commitment to connecting learning to the real world and creating experiences that inspire students to explore, discover, and reach their full potential. We are excited to partner with our families and community as we provide opportunities that help our students learn, lead, and thrive—both inside and beyond the classroom.

We look forward to an amazing year filled with meaningful experiences and unforgettable opportunities for our students!

September 1st - New students will get sorted in their house. The houses are Amistad, Altruismo, Isibindi, and Reveur. To learn more about the houses, click on this link.

September 3rd - Kona Ice truck will be at the school from 10:30-12:30.

September 4th - House Pep Rally Kick-off. Students are encouraged to wear their house colors.

September 4th - Students who grew on the i-Ready test from the spring to the fall and/or students who tested on grade level will receive a small gift during lunch time.

September 4th - Early Release. Dismissal @ 12:25.

September 7th - Labor Day. No school!

September 8th - School Store Fundraiser Online Link Launches! This is a year-round fundraiser. Our school is guaranteed up to 40% of all paid orders. Use https://www.schoolstore.net/sid.t?0000181336 to sign up. Students will get a lanyard with their specific code to use when signing up. Once the sign up is complete, students will receive a small gift.

September 11th - Grandparents' Day Luncheon. Be on the lookout for a RSVP flyer in your child's backpack on September 3rd.

September 17th - Fall Pictures

September 18th - Maryland Boys Crabcakes will be here from 11:00-1:30 for our staff, 5th grade students, and any families that want to come and enjoy!

September 21st - Midland Fundraising Starts! You will get a catalog in your child's backpack that you can from online or by completing the form that comes with the catalog. All Orders Due October 5th. Our school gets 50% of all paid orders.

The week of September 21st - Quarter 1 Progress Reports will be emailed

September 23rd - Annual Title I / Open House @ 4:30-6:30

Come to celebrate the Greatest School Year on Earth. You don't want to miss it! The event starts right at 4:30! We will have lots of food trucks, carnival-style treats, attractions (activities), prizes, raffles, and much more for all of you.
