BWMS Family Update

BWMS Families,

Thank you for helping make the first half of the 2024-25 school year go so well. 6th through 8th continues to be Great. We have much to still accomplish, but we can rest well over the break knowing that we have given great effort in 2024. May the winter break provide much rest and relaxation. Enjoy time with your family and friends. We look forward to great things in 2025.

• STAR reports will be mailed home before break.
• End of the 2nd Quarter is Friday 12/20/24 with winter break from 12/21/24 through 1/3/25.
• Attention 8th grade families - Registration for the D.C. trip will NOT be accepted after December 31, 2023 (no exceptions). Please see the DC Packet here.
• Students return from winter break on Monday 1/6/25.
• 2nd quarter report cards will be live in PowerSchool on Friday 1/10/25.
• 8th grade students will participate in a budgeting simulation on Friday 1/17/25 called Real Money, Real World. We will share a Sign Up Genius after break for volunteer opportunities.
• Monday 1/20/25 is Martin Luther King Jr Day and we will not have school. Special thanks to our MS grade social studies teachers who are planning activities around this monumental influencer in connection with the Youth Service America - MLK Day of Service.
• 7th grade students will have the required suicide awareness and prevention programming from House Bill 123 on 1/22-1/23 in social studies classrooms. Additional information to include the opt out form will be sent to families via email after break.

BWMS have been emailed home the Eagle Profile Reports in the coming days. Specifically, our school continues to highlight the areas of the Eagle Profile listed below and strives to provide ongoing feedback to students about how to increase in these targeted areas with projects, activities and assessments. As we come to the end of the 1st semester, students and families will receive feedback (1-rarely, 2-sometimes, or 3-almost always) for each component in hopes that we can continue to help our students grow not just in academics, but these very important skills for life.

Please take a look at the Free Winter Wellness Workshops available to support families in Delaware County from Syntero.

Over winter break, Syntero will be facilitating Winter Wellness groups on December 23rd and 30th. The middle school group would be taking place from 2pm-3pm. While the student will be in a group, parents are invited to attend a parent workshop at the same location and time (this is optional for the parent).
