Kestrel Club Sessions Update
Hello Kestrel Families! Our administrative team has decided to change our club plan from the original two club sessions to one club session for the 2021-22 school year. Our club session will run from February 9th-March 16th.
The primary reason for this adjustment is scholar and staff safety. Scholars would be in clubs with students from other classes and grade levels, which could increase the risk of exposure. We will continue to monitor how COVID is impacting our school community and adjust as needed to create the safest possible environment for our scholars and staff.
We are committed to offering clubs during the school day so ALL scholars can participate and are looking forward to our winter club session! Thank you for your understanding and feel free to reach out to Mrs. Kennedy, Dr. Tracy, or Mr. Touchette with questions or concerns.

Kestrel Heights Lunch Information
KHS is applying to be a part of the National School Lunch Program! We are hoping to get our final approval in the upcoming weeks. At this time we are unable to offer free and reduced breakfast and lunch. Please contact Mrs. Gordon if you need this benefit. However you can still access the LunchTime Software to ensure your scholar gets breakfast and lunch! This year we will serve breakfast at $2.00 per meal per scholar. Lunch cost $4.00 per student per meal for all students at KHCS. The menu is attached.
We will only serve students who have pre-ordered their meals. The Lunchtime System will allow parents to pre-order meals, to add funds and track the meals balance. To pre-order breakfast please use this form: https://forms.gle/i8HMsPkUWjhh8bse7
KHS will order meals from our catering company according to the meals ordered by parents. We will order the exact number for breakfast and lunch; therefore, there is no way for a student to eat if a parent did not pre-order online.
All parents of students who choose to eat from school’s lunch regardless of their status (Free, Reduced or Paid) have to use this system to pre-order the meals. Pre-order meals must be in by 5pm the day before the meal is being pre-ordered.
Please review the attachment below. It contains the information for creating your Lunch Account and how to pre-order meals for your child(ren).
Read it carefully, then click the link below to get started with the setup.

Headphones for Grade 6-8
As a blended learning school our scholars are on computers throughout the instructional day. Scholars listen to a multitude of lessons across all four subject areas.
For safety reasons, we are not sharing headphones between scholars. Therefore, each scholar will need to bring their own headphones. Please label these headphones so if lost we can return them to your child.
Please contact the front office (919-484-1300 ext 300 Elem or ext 200 MS) if you have any questions.
Middle School End of Year Trip: Washington DC
A new tradition is starting at KHS. Starting this year all MS scholars (6th-8th grade) are able to attend the end-of-year field trip. This year we are going to Washington DC from April 7-9, 2022.
If your scholar is interested in attending this year's trip to Washington DC, please join us for our virtual information night on September 21 at 6 pm (log-in information below).
We will go to a different location on a three-year rotation so that your scholar will not repeat the field trip. Next year we will be going to Jamestown/Williamsburg.
