Dear BES Families,
Where did October go?? There is so much in this newsletter, thank you for reading through it all!
See our information below for Red Ribbon Week - bring your pumpkins in to the BES Pumpkin Patch!
Please plan to come to our Thrive event at LHS this week! See below for more information. There will be some incredible presentations and a raffle you can enter for your student to win a variety of fun experiences for their class!
This week we will have our fall parties on Friday at 2pm. Here's some reminders:
1. We will release parents to classrooms at 1:50pm
2. There is not a lot of room in some of our classrooms. We encourage extra family members to not come due to this.
3. Siblings who are not in school yet can come, but please remember the treats, games, and crafts are for the students. The party is for our BES students, siblings will have their turn eventually!
4. Please remember, we do not wear costumes at our fall party.
Check out the Book Fair info below - including the reservation link or the Grand Breakfast. It is on Wednesday this year.
Have a great week,
Cindy Apple, Principal

Support For Our Families
Hello USD 416 Families and Friends,
Believe it or not, cold weather and the holiday season are fast approaching. The added expense of this season can be a heavy burden. The USD 416 social worker/counselor team wanted to share with you some free resources for winter coats, Thanksgiving meal baskets and Christmas gifts (Christmas gift program is for Louisburg children birth to 18). Please be mindful of each deadline for requesting assistance. As far away as they seem, the deadlines will be here before you know it.
If your family could benefit from a little extra support to ease the seasonal burden, then please see our newsletter to learn about some wonderful resources!

Let's Hit a Homerun for our Kids!
On November 4, 2025, Patrons of the Louisburg School District will have the opportunity to vote on a new baseball and softball complex. This new complex will be a ZERO mill increase project. If the vote passes, construction will begin right away and the goal will be to play baseball and softball games on the fields late April/May 2026. Besides baseball and softball, other sports teams will be able to play on the fields, as well as band, dance and physical education classes. As with all of our fields, The LRC and community will have access to them throughout the year. We appreciate your support of this zero mill increase capital improvement for our school district and community. For more information about the ball fields, please visit our school district's website at: https://www.usd416.org/article/2361293

Attendance and School Calendar
Please take note of our school calendars when planning your family's vacations.
Attendance is a focus at BES and we want your children at school! It can be very difficult for students to get caught up sometimes when they miss for extended periods of time. For example, when a student misses a week of school, that is up to 450 minutes of math instruction they are missing!
If your family does have a trip planned, we do not provide lessons or materials ahead of those trips. Teachers will work with you to schedule times when your student can be given that instruction and guided work time to ensure mastery of skills. This may have to happen before or after school, but we will also try to work during the school day as well.
GREAT school habits now help prepare students for future success!
