Tree Giveaway Recap
Last weekend, Endeavor High School partnered with the Student Conservation Association (SCA) and the Houston Advanced Research Center (HARC) to host a native fruit tree giveaway. The event was a huge success, with over 203 community members attending and taking home a total of 400 trees for their backyards! This giveaway was part of an ongoing effort to increase tree canopy in Harris County neighborhoods and promote food security by providing access to locally grown fruit.
The event was run by Student Conservation Association interns, Endeavor High School staff, and ten Endeavor High School volunteers. These volunteers are part of Project Green, the school’s environmental program. They showed up early to help out and did an incredible job representing Endeavor at the event!
If you weren’t able to make it this time, don’t worry! The Student Conservation Association will be hosting another free native fruit tree giveaway at the end of March. More details will be posted online and in the Endeavor High School newsletter as the event gets closer.
Thank you to everyone who came out to support the event and take home a tree! Not only will these trees produce fruit for your home, but they’ll also make Channelview greener and keep the air cleaner.

ACT/SAT Info
What is the ACT/SAT test?
Both the SAT and the ACT are nationally administered, standardized tests that help schools evaluate your application and see how prepared you are for college courses. The SAT and ACT generally cover the same topics. Both ACT and SAT scores are used for college admissions decisions and awarding merit-based scholarships. Most colleges do not prefer one test over the other. Neither the SAT nor ACT is harder than the other. Different students tend to do better on one test than the other.
Ask Mrs. Jackson or Mrs. Salinas for more information.
