Principal Message
A blizzard and forecasted 70 degree weather in less than a week--gotta love March!
A few reminders for the week:
~ Conferences: March is the month we come together for spring conferences (and we have a book fair, too!). Conferences will be held from 3:30-8:00 on March 23, 24, & 26. Here is the conference sign-up link. Also, we need Book Fair volunteers--use this link to volunteer.
~ Conference Teacher Meals: The PTO is in need of beverage and dessert donations for teacher meals at conferences. This would be a GREAT way to support teachers and be involved in the PTO, so please consider a donation. Maybe you make a dessert that everyone raves about and want to share, or perhaps you're really busy and just want to donate some 12-packs of pop or sparkling water? We need YOU...please consider signing up to donate--all the details to sign up can be found here. HUGE thanks to those of you who have already signed up to donate!!! We appreciate YOU!
~ PTO officer need for next year: The PTO will be looking for an interested individual to be the Vice President for the 2026-27 school year, which then leads to being the president the following year. Don't let this scare you, really. We're a fun group that is growing in numbers with each meeting, and we figure things out together! If this interests you, please reach out to me.
~ NO School on Thursday, March 19 (teacher PD day and conference prep day) OR Friday, March 20 (EID).
Thanks for always being so supportive of our work!

Scholastic Book Fair
Dear families,
Get ready—the Scholastic Book Fair is coming to our school! This is a great opportunity to build your
child’s home library with new books they’ll dive into again and again.
The easiest way to let your child shop the Fair independently is by creating an eWallet. It’s easy to set
up and easy for others to add funds. Create an eWallet, and you’ll also have the opportunity to contribute to Share the Fair - the giving program that supports students at our school who need help buying books. Consider participating so that no child leaves the Fair empty-handed!
Here’s everything else you need to know about the Book Fair:
Dates: March 23, 24 & 26. 3:30-7:30
Location: Washington Media Center
For full details, and to create an eWallet, visit our school’s Scholastic Book Fair homepage.
More than ever, we need to get students reading. Studies prove that children with more books at
home have higher-level reading skills and attain more years of education overall.
Lastly, this is a great opportunity to be a Book Fair volunteer! When you give your time, it helps make
our Fair an unforgettable reading experience where every purchase benefits our school directly.
Happy reading,

I went skydiving when I was a teenager.
Tell us about your family.
My wife Jessica and I have been married for 20 years. Our daughter Lola is 11 years old and Jessica is currently homeschooling her. Our son Quentin would be 14 years old, but he went to heaven 2 years ago after almost 6 years of battling brain cancer.
We enjoy movies, books, and air conditioning.
Where did you go to elementary school?
I was homeschooled all the way through high school, so I was naturally the best student in my grade level.
Have a preschooler?
This year was District 77's first year of full-day 4-year old programming which mirrors the K-5 student calendar. Many of our families throughout the district would qualify for tranpsortation as part of the VPK scholarship program. See the flyer below!

Spring Music Concert: SAVE THE DATE!
We hope you can join us for our Spring Concert on May 1.
Just to be clear: students perform the concert 3 times throughout the day. Parents are asked, if at all possible, to attend the concert time that corresponds with the first letter of their last name. We recognize this may not be possible with work schedules, BUT it helps immensely with having enough seating for all. The last concert will be standing room only, so it really helps, and is immensely appreciated, if you can attend at the time that corresponds with your last name.
