From the Principals Desk

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Hi, my name is Andrew Hohman, and I’m so excited to start my first year as principal here at Young Elementary! This will be my 16th year in education, and I still feel just as passionate about teaching and learning as I did on my very first day.

I started out as an elementary special education teacher, then worked as an elementary school counselor and behavior specialist. Over the years, I’ve also spent time in middle school and, most recently, five years in high school. I’ve enjoyed every role, but my heart has always been with younger students. I want to make the same kind of difference for them that my 5th grade teacher, Mrs. Walher, made for me.

Outside of school, my wife teaches English III in Northwest ISD, and our son is starting 6th grade this year. We love camping, fishing, and spending time outdoors together. I also enjoy riding my motorcycle and helping my grandparents on their ranch back in my hometown of Lometa, Texas.

I can already tell this is going to be a great year at Young Elementary. Thank you for trusting us with your amazing kids—together, we’re going to make this a year full of learning, growth, and wonderful memories!
