At Sheridan High School, we SWARM for success! Our Yellowjackets show pride by working hard, staying accountable, showing respect, and being mindful. This Monday, we’ll be celebrating our students’ success and recognizing how they truly embody what it means to SWARM!

We’re excited to share that Sheridan High School has launched a new behavior system called MINGA! This program celebrates positive choices while also keeping families informed about areas where support may be needed.

Students have already started earning points for showing success, and beginning this week we’ll also track minor behaviors (like tardies, distractions, or cell phone use) to provide consistent accountability.

Our goal is to build a positive, thriving school culture where students are recognized for their growth and guided when challenges arise. Thank you for partnering with us to support Yellowjacket success!

Technology Technology

Students,

Last year, most of you turned in your Chromebooks and chargers—thank you!

However, a few devices are still out there. If you still have one, please return it—no questions asked—to the SHS front office. Right now, these Chromebooks are locked and cannot be used at home, but we do need them here at school so students have the tools they need to learn in class. Your help in getting them back makes a big difference—thank you!

Dress Code Reminders Dress Code Reminders

We want all students to feel comfortable, safe, and ready to learn. Parents and students share the responsibility for choosing school-appropriate attire. Clothing should not pose a safety risk, cause distractions, or disrupt the learning environment.

Please avoid wearing items such as: midriff-baring tops, shoulder straps less than 3 inches wide, short skirts/shorts (more than 4 inches above the knee), see-through garments, pajamas or lounge wear, visible undergarments, offensive or suggestive messages, sagging pants, or clothing with excessive rips above the knee. Headwear, hoods, sunglasses, and shoes with cleats or wheels are also not permitted.

For a full list of dress code guidelines, please refer to page 120 of the Student Handbook, available online for parent access. Thank you for helping us maintain a positive and distraction-free environment for all students.

Student Badges Student Badges

Badges were handed out last week and now, it’s time to wear them with pride! Every student should have their badge front and center all day long, showing off their SHS spirit. Need a replacement? Stop by the office before school or during lunch to pick one up for $5 and stay ready to represent!

Bell to Bell, No Cell Bell to Bell, No Cell

Starting the first day of school, all students in grades K-12 must keep personal devices powered off and out of sight from the time they arrive until dismissal — including class changes, lunch, and breaks.

Devices include:

  • Cell phones

  • Smartwatches

  • Wireless earbuds/headphones

  • Tablets or laptops not issued by the district

  • Gaming devices

  • Digital cameras/recorders

  • Any Bluetooth-connected or media-capable device

Thank you for partnering with us to support a safe, focused, learning environment for every student!
