NO SCHOOL ON MONDAY, NOVEMBER 18th
Veterans Day Program
We had a wonderful Veterans Day program on Monday. We are thankful for the opportunity to put on such an important event to honor our wonderful Veterans and all the sacrifices they made for us.
A big thank you to Mrs. Dreitz and all who helped the program come together.
League Choir
On Tuesday, the Akron School had the opportunity to host League Choir. Ms. Lowry and 2 guest conductors spent the day teaching area students new songs to be preformed that night. There were 7
schools including Akron, with over 100 students. Akron had 8 students participate.
PTSO also prepared a meal for the students to have before showtime.
Thank you to Ms. Lowry and all who helped make this a successful event.
Building Trades
The building trades class has been working hard on acquiring new skills including cutting concrete,
setting posts, building a privacy fence, welding, woodwork and hanging gates.
Life Skills
Each month our life skills class prepares a snack for the board meeting. This month they put together a meat and cheese tray shaped like a turkey. 🦃
FFA Auctioneer CDE
Five Akron FFA students attended the first ever Colorado FFA Auctioneer Workshop on Wednesday in Denver. These students learned a lot and made huge strides in their abilities.
Preschool Dinner Theater
Our Preschool class has been hard at work memorizing nursery rhymes to perform for their families. On Thursday, they had the opportunity to put on a short program showcasing Humpty Dumpty, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Jack and Jill Went Up the Hill and many more nursery rhymes. After the performance students and their families enjoyed a meal together.
NED Assembly
Thursday morning, the elementary students attended the NED Show. NED is a lovable cartoon character whose name is an acronym for Never give up, Encourage others, and Do your best. The purpose of the assembly is to promote a culture of kindness and excellence at the school.
Prior to the assembly, students are given the opportunity to purchase yo-yos, which is the focus of the presentation. Yo-yos will continue to be available for purchase next week, November 19th-21st.
HS Football
On November 1st, the Akron Rams overtook the Merino Rams 56-32 to secure their spot in the first round of playoffs. After a battle with the weather, the Rams were able to play Clear Creek on Sunday to continue their playoff drive, winning 46-34 over the Gold Diggers.
The Rams will host SedgCo on Saturday, November 16th at 1pm.
Good luck and GO BLUE!!
