The Council approved ordinances to refinance $16.1M in Community Center bonds, which will save $1M over the remaining term of the bond, $1.45M in Golf Clubhouse bonds, which will save $150K over the remaining term of the bond; & issued $6.5M to fund improvements at the Community Center. The Council, Parks & Recreation, Community Center Board & School District have begun conversations to confirm the best approach for improvements at the Center.

Key Project Update

  • Take Safe Streets 2nd Survey to confirm your visual preferences for the work proposed, next we begin the grant application & Cost Benefit Analysis.
  • Summer Sewer Credit Program applications are due now, until June 7th. You can find the application on our website. Credits are given for July - September usage based on 3 months with highest water usage. Missouri's hottest months are June - August, with April to June considered the wettest months of the year. For those reasons, credits were changed to the 3 warmest months with the least amount of rainfall.
  • Swimming Pool Credits requested within 15 days of filling pool (April-June). The time frame changed because feedback most pools filled the 1st time before Memorial Day.
  • Communities of Excellence awarded the DASH grant to learn how to find the right data sources to measure outcomes from proposed community initiatives. COE strives to support data driven community decisions, but the right data is critical.

Choose Your Attitude!

Excelsior Springs is thought of as one of the best kept secrets in the greater KC area. ES is located within a picturesque valley reminiscent more of the Ozarks rather than a big city. The unique history of the town is well preserved, dating back more than 100 years. Visitors will also stumble upon one-of-a-kind shops & delicious food. By Vacation Idea Staff on 2/14/2021.
