Congratulations Stingrays! Birnamwood has always been fierce competitors and we really gave it our all! If you think about it, we have only had ten days of practice in the water, and the amount of growth our team and each swimmer has accomplished in such a short amount of time is truly astonishing <3

Also special thank you to everyone, because this is the first meet in a really long time (multiple seasons) that we didn't have to make relay changes after the coaches' scratch meeting. Thank you to the families who communicated that their swimmer had to leave early! Thank you to the parents who put notes for coaches in swimtopia. Thank you to those that texted us if you were late. Due to everyone's early and quick communication, we were able to make adjustments and didn't have to scratch a single relay on Saturday!

*Ribbons from all past meets will be in the purple crate at practice. Files are alphabetical by last name. If you are missing a ribbon, reach out to the coaches.*

Kason T - Shout out to Kason, he is 11 years old and only starting to swim the longer distance events this year, but specifically requested to be put into the more taxing 100 yard events! On top of that, he dropped a total of 22 seconds across all 3 of his events!

Kynzi P - Shout out to Kynzi for all of her hard work! Kynzi is always so focused at practice and at meets. Although she is shy and sweet, she has been tearing it up in the water! Kynzi has acquired a new stroke this year, butterfly, and has been steadily dropping time across all her events in every meet so far! Congrats Kynzi!

📌 We will have pasta night at the North Spring Pool/Park no matter what! If our pool is open we will have an alternative practice with schedule shorten practice times to accommodate for pasta night.

📌If our pool is not open, we will just have pasta night only.

📌What to bring:

8 & Unders - Bread (bread sticks, garlic bread, Texas Toast)

9-14 - Pasta - (spaghetti & meatballs, chicken alfredo, pasta salad)

15-18 - Salad & dressings - (garden, caesar, etc.)

Bring your own drinks and chairs. The kids will be decorating cars and posters for future meets, bring supplies (markers, car makers, poster board, etc.) to participate.

Summer Thunder is a mid-season invitational meet coming up June 1st and 2nd. This is an OPTIONAL region wide swim meet that has a time qualifying requirement per age group and stroke. Invitational meets are super fun and a good opportunity for swimmers to compete against others at the same speed, drop time, and race at an indoor pool. Here are the links for date, time, location, and qualifying times (make sure that you look at YARD times not meters).

Sunday, June 1st will be for all 10 and Under events and the 11 & Up 100 Free and 100

IM. Warm-ups start at 8:00 a.m. and the meet will start at 9:45 a.m.

Monday, June 2nd will be for the remaining 11 and Up events. Warm-ups start at 3:45

p.m. and the meet will start at 5:15 p.m.

Check out the list below of our swimmers that have qualified. If your swimmer has qualified for summer thunder and would like to participate then please complete the following steps:

1) Declare your swimmer attending (on swimtopia or website)

2) Select the specific events your swimmer would like to swim (you can only swim events that you have qualifying times in) (time trial times are allowed)

3) Send $9 per individual event. Please reach out to Michelle or Amanda or you can Venmo - @nsst2021 – if pin is required 8252. Make sure to reference your swimmer and the number of individual events in the payment memo.

After submission, more details will be sent next week, regarding timing assignments/warm-ups/timeline.

Please text Coach Marissa (832) 226-3011 photos that you take of our kiddos during this swim season! These will be compiled into a slideshow for the end of the end of the year team party! We specifically like to include pictures that feature multiple swimmers, big and little buddy photos, silly photos! They can be pictures from meets, pasta nights, practice, invitationals, etc.!

*Again, lunch and ribbons will depend on if we have our swim meet this Saturday. Please refer to the email sent by Erika Lara regarding the status of the pool*
