ACP Corner
Today, your child had their second monthly ACP Pathfinders lesson.
If you have a 5th grader, ask them about:
Their first ACP guest speaker, Todd Irvine, Muskego-Norway’s superintendent. What did they learn about working life from our superintendent’s perspective?
If you have a 6th grader, ask them about:
Their interests and hobbies, both in and outside of school, and how they could relate to future careers.
If you have a 7th grader, ask them about:
Career pathways – are they most interested in two year college or technical school, four year college, an apprenticeship, the military, going straight into the workforce…or a couple of these options?
If you have a 8th grader, ask them about:
What skills they possess that they are proud of…and people they know who possess that skill.
ACP Conversation Starter Tip
Please consider talking about the topics below as a family this month.
Knowing that talents and interests support career decision making, ask your student the following questions: “What do you enjoy doing?” “What do you do well?” “What are some of your interests, talents, goals, and career aspirations?” “What do you want to be when you finish your education?”
Chromebook Reminders
Chromebooks should be brought to school fully charged daily. There is a limited supply of loaners for students whose devices are under repair. In the event that a student's Chromebook is left at home or brought to school uncharged, a loaner may be available for his/her use during the school day; however, repeated incidents or violations may result in loss of privileges. If your student travels between multiple households, it may be beneficial to purchase a second charger. They can be purchased from the Library Media Center.
School Medication Policy
As a reminder, per our district policy (Administration of Medications ag5330), if your child requires prescription medication during school hours, please follow our school medication policy:
A parent or guardian must bring all medications directly to the school health office or staff. Students are not allowed to transport medications to or from school themselves.
All medications must be in original, pharmacy labeled containers
Each medication requires a signed doctor’s order before we can administer it.
Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our students safe!
