"The Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve
and to give his life as a ransom for many."
Matthew 20:28
Service teaches us so much about what it means to follow Jesus. Without looking for recognition or applause, Jesus fed, healed, washed and taught with love as his motivation. And Jesus invites his followers to imitate him. Young Life has the special calling of serving and walking alongside teenagers and sometimes that means getting to serve with them. Talk about joy when we get to see kids packing blessing bags, busing tables in the dining hall at camp, or leading games at WyldLife Club!
Here are a few highlights from B-PV Young Life's recent happenings and a few opportunities to join us in serving…
IMPACT…
Recently I got a text from a friend in our B-PV Mission Community sharing that their church had celebrated the baptisms that Sunday, including someone whose journey with Jesus started at Young Life camp years ago! Sometimes we plant seeds, sometimes we water, sometimes we see fruit, but all along we rejoice that the Holy Spirit is at work!
PRAYER…
As campers from our area look forward to the adventures we'll have at Castaway Club this summer the Property Staff and Assigned Team is getting ready to make the experience AMAZING! Please join me in praying for the Camp Staff, Work Crew and Summer Staff who will serve at YL camps this summer. And if you know a high school or college kid who'd be interested in spending a month growing their faith through service, connect us! I'd love to have them join me during my assignment at Clearwater Cove or help them find another opportunity that works for them! For proof of the amazing adventures that await anyone who goes to YL camp, please see the picture below : )
FINANCES…
TWO annual FUNdraisers are in process right now and are great opportunities to support different aspects of B-PV Young Life! Our GOLF OUTING provides for a BIG portion of our annual budget and is one of the best days of the year for the adults who love YL! It's just over a month away on April 24 and we'd love for you to join us as a sponsor or golfer! Additionally our FLOWER SALE is a great way to help reduce the cost of camp for kids and leaders and brighten up your yard! Get more about GOLF and FLOWERS below and THANK YOU in advance for your generosity!
STAFF, COMMITTEE & LEADERS…
So much of what happens in our area happens smoothly because of the behind the scenes work of our AMAZING administrator, Anne, who just celebrated 5 years on Young Life staff! Anne is a great model of what it means to serve like Jesus, and we are blessed and grateful to have her on our team!
Peace and prayers,
Emily
