Lil Steamer Families --
Last week we hard our House Sorting Day, where all Kindergarten and new students are sorted into one of four houses:
- Anchor House (yellow)
- Bridge House (green)
- River House (blue)
- Wheel House (orange)
Throughout the year, we have House Days where we focus on building relationships with students outside of ones own grade level. Team building, critical thinking, and other activities are included in these days.
This year, after our Sorting Day activities concluded, all students went outside for a short dance party as we danced the Cha Cha Slide and the Cupid Shuffle. Here's a video recapping our sweet dance moves!

Bonus Note!
It's Homecoming Week, so let's share a few pictures of my time as a Steamer football player. Turns out I was a cute kid at one point... check out those sweet stripes in my 6th grade haircut! 😆
P.S. I'm glad I kept my senior football jersey so I can wear it once a year during Homecoming Week! 😀

The past week has been filled with enthusiasm as we celebrated Homecoming. The effort put into the hallway decorations was excellent, and the students enjoyed participating in the creative dress-up days. The culminating event, a lively pep assembly featuring interactions between our elementary students and their high school counterparts, was a great success and reinforced school spirit.
Amidst all the excitement, it is important to note that the first quarter is rapidly drawing to a close. The official end of the quarter is Friday, October 17th. Please help us ensure students maintain their focus during these final weeks to finish the quarter strongly.

It has been awesome this week seeing our students and staff showing off their school spirit. Both students and staff found fun ways to dress up. Our school glowed with all of the bright decorations put up by staff. There was definitely lots of positive energy and Steamer pride shining bright all week long. Go Steamers!
September Leadworthy Lil Steamers

Meet the FBP/FES Family!
It is easy to learn about the teacher that your child/children have or have had. However, at FBP and FES, we are one large team. For this reason, we will introduce and give some fun information about each of our family members in our newsletter!
Skills Application
One of the lunch tables at FES had a broken weld. Instead of tossing the table, Mr. Marten's FHS welding students, Nolan Rathburn and Marik Eads, had the opportunity to apply their welding skills and repair the table! We are excited to be able to have our FHS students apply their skills to real life situations! Way to go Nolan and Marik and thank you for taking care of the lunch table!
1C Explores the Life Cycle of an Apple🍎
Our curious first graders embarked on a hands-on learning adventure as they studied the life cycle of an apple - from tiny seeds to the delicious fruits we love to eat! Through interactive lessons, stories, and even taste tests, students explored each stage of an apple’s journey. One of the highlights included tasting different varieties of apples. Our top class pick was the ever popular Granny Smith apple followed by the Golden Delicious and Red Delicious. To wrap up the unit, students enjoyed apple slices with caramel and a caramel apple sucker. We’re so proud of how engaged and excited our first graders were throughout this science unit. They’re truly growing their knowledge one seed at a time! Special shout out to parents who helped out and sent in apples with their first grader. THANK YOU! 🍏
4th Grade Field Trip
Last week 4th graders visited Palisades State Park to take part in Ag Day! Students were able to visit a variety of different stations during the day learning about bats, forestry, soil, the water cycle, and more!
GLOW WEEK in Specials!
In Music class, students practiced steady beat, rhythm, form, and movement with glowsticks and flashlights!
