🧠 Top Testing Tips for Middle Schoolers! 🧠 Top Testing Tips for Middle Schoolers!

Testing time can be stressful, but it doesn't have to be! Whether you're taking a quiz, a unit test, or one of those big state exams, being prepared can make a huge difference. Here are some simple tips to help you crush your next test—and yes, we’re also talking about your Chromebook charger!

✅ 1. Get a Good Night’s Sleep

You’ve probably heard this a million times, but it really works. Your brain needs rest to work at full power. Try to go to bed a little earlier the night before a test so you feel alert and ready.

🍎 2. Eat a Healthy Breakfast

No one can think clearly on an empty stomach! Try to eat something with protein (like eggs or yogurt) and something with carbs (like toast or fruit) to keep your energy up.

💻 3. Bring Your Chromebook—AND THE CHARGER

This is a big one! Many tests are taken on Chromebooks, and if your device dies halfway through, it could cause a lot of stress. Make sure your Chromebook is fully charged the night before and bring your charger with you, just in case. Remember that the Main Office has a limited supply of chargers to loan!

🖊️ 4. Pack Your Bag the Night Before

Avoid rushing in the morning by getting your stuff ready ahead of time.

🧘 5. Stay Calm and Breathe

Feeling nervous is normal! When you sit down to take your test, take a few deep breaths to calm your mind. Remind yourself that you’ve got this.

🧩 6. Read Instructions Carefully

Don’t rush. Read each question and all the answer choices before choosing. Sometimes, just reading more carefully can help you catch easy mistakes.

🔄 7. Double-Check Your Work (If You Have Time)

If you finish early, go back and check your answers. Look for skipped questions or little errors that you can fix.

🌟 Final Thought:

Tests are just one way to show what you’ve learned. Preparing ahead of time, staying calm, and remembering little things—like your Chromebook charger—can help you feel confident and ready to do your best. Your teachers have been preparing you for this all school year--you’ve got this!

🐾 PARENTS & GUARDIANS OF ATHLETES PARTICIPATING IN WORKOUTS🐾

Reminder: to participate in athletics, student athletes MUST have a sports physical on file at JCMS and must be registered on Final Forms.

Schneck Urgent Care at 1124 Medical Pl. Seymour, IN 47274 is open from 8 am to 8 pm Monday-Friday and 8 am to 5 pm Saturday and Sunday. This location offers sports physicals for $25 cash/debit/credit (meaning they do not run insurance)

If your athlete attended tonight’s after school workout and did not have a physical on file, they received a form that can be filled out and taken to their physical. Having this filled out ahead of time will make your trip much quicker. If they do not have a form, they can get one from the JCMS athletic office!

For any questions about this process, please contact the JCMS Athletic office during school hours. We look forward to all of our athletes being able to participate!
