Office Updates Office Updates

We have had a couple of busy weeks here at the Dewing School! Students are working hard and having fun while working hard.

Character Strong-We are finishing up our Respect focus with an assembly later today. Next week, we focus our instruction on Responsibility. For tips on supporting this in the home, please review the information linked below.

School Improvement-This week, building principals submitted their finalized School Improvement Plans to the School Committee. The plans outline some of the important work we hope to do over the course of the year and beyond. If you would like to review the Dewing School Improvement Plan, I will be posting this to our Website. It is also linked here.

Dewing Dew-Gooders-Please see the attached letter from our School Adjustment Counselor, Mr. Sean Waldron. We are starting to prepare for the holiday season. If you would like to support families or need or if you need assistance, please see the attached letter.

PAC! Last night, the PAC arranged a wonderful Monster Bash! There were crafts, activities and some dancing. Students who attended looked great and it seemed like everyone had a great time. Thank you to the PAC for their hard work in creating fun activities for our kids to enjoy!

PickUp Patrol - Helpful Information for Parent Users-Here is a good reference for step by step instructions and screenshots of what the app views look like to help guide them when using PUP.

Tewksbury Public Schools is offering screenings to students who reside in Tewksbury on the following dates and locations:

  • December 11, 2026 (At HEATH BROOK ELEMENTARY SCHOOL) from 12:00-12:30 PM

  • February 26, 2027 (At DEWING ELEMENTARY SCHOOL) from 12:00-12:30 PM

  • April 9, 2027 (At DEWING ELEMENTARY SCHOOL) from 12:00-12:30 PM

Tewksbury Public Schools conducts periodic developmental screenings for three-and four-year-old children. This screening is designed to review a child’s development and to assist in determining appropriate supports that may be needed for developing preschool aged children.

The Tewksbury Integrated Preschool conducts screenings throughout the year and uses the DIAL-4 screening instrument. The screening team is composed of an Early Childhood Specialist, Speech and Language Pathologist and Preschool Teaching Assistants. The team is coordinated by the Principal/Preschool Coordinator. At the time of the screening, parents receive information about child development and also have the opportunity to speak with specialists regarding any concerns they may have about their child’s development. Children participate in the screening activities within the preschool classroom and have an opportunity to play in a small group to screen communication and social skills.

If you are interested in registering for a screening, please fill out the registration form:
