Dropping off Lunch
Parents are welcome to drop off their child(ren)'s lunch to our lunch table. Please be sure it is labelled with their name and teacher. If children will be going home for lunch each day, it is our expectation that your child will go directly to their own home and then return to school. A written note signed by a parent/guardian will be required for any students who normally stay for lunch to go out for lunch. Students are encouraged to arrive at school with a full, reusable water bottle along with snacks and lunch each day.
Please note that 3rd party delivery is not permitted.
Due to safety reasons St. Aidan school will not accept food deliveries for students from any third party delivery services.
With Appreciation
Thank you to the St. Aidan Flames families for their continued support of the school through our Hot Lunch programs and Tuck Shop sales. With proceeds from these days we were able to fundraise enough to repaint the back school yard with great games for students to play while at recess. Students are now enjoying newly painted Basketball Keys, Four Square, Mirror Me, Hop Scotch and a Maze!
๐ช Tuck Shop Treats Are Back! ๐ช
Students are encouraged to bring a Toonie to school to enjoy a tasty treat!
Don't miss out on the fun and delicious options available!
Birthday Book Club
Happy Birthday to our students who participated in the Birthday Book Club this month!
MAKER FAIR
We are excited to announce that our school will be hosting a Maker Fair, a special event celebrating the creativity, innovation, and unique talents of our students!
The Maker Fair is an opportunity for students to showcase anything they have madeโfrom knitted scarves to LEGO inventions, from paintings to robotics, from homemade jewelry to coding projects. Every creation is welcome, and every student has the chance to shine. If your son or daughter has not brought home a permission form, please remind them to see Mrs. Bunkiewicz.
Our Maker Fair will take place in May.

Bullying Awareness and Prevention Week
At St. Aidan, we are committed to fostering safe, caring, and inclusive school communities. During Bullying Awareness & Prevention Week, we reminded students and staff that kindness, respect, and empathy are at the heart of who we are. Classes took part in wheelchair basketball to promote understanding and inclusion, and students created kindness chains to celebrate positive actions and strengthen our sense of community. Together, we continue to build a school where everyone feels valued and supported.

Parent Portal
DPCDSB is pleased to introduce the Parent and Student Portal - a new way to stay connected
and engaged in your childโs education.
With your secure personalized account, youโll be able to:
โข View your childโs attendance history
โข Access their class schedule
โข Review special education documents (for students with an IEP)
Plus, enjoy quick access to helpful tools:
โข Your childโs school website
โข School Messenger to report absences
Parents and guardians have now received step-by-step instructions via email to get started.
Please check your email for instructions. For assistance in setting up your account, visit:
School Volunteers
Just a reminder that if you are interested in volunteering within the school in any capacity, including field trips, student support, Catholic School Council member, etc., a Valid Criminal Reference Check (CRC), with Vulnerable Sector and Local Records Check is required. Please note that there may be some time required to process a CRC, thus waiting for an announced volunteer opportunity to obtain your CRC may not provide sufficient time for processing. Therefore, we are asking all parents that if you feel that you may be interested in volunteering in any capacity in the school this year, it may be best to start the process now.
ATTENDANCE VERIFICATION
It is important for students to be at school on time and ready to work. When students are late they miss important information and routines. We realize that throughout the year there will be times that your child will be away from school.
SafeArrival is an application within SchoolMessenger that will allow parents/guardians to report their childrenโs absences in one of the following three ways:
SchoolMessenger App

Kiss N' Ride
Please read the following Kiss and Rode Protocol Reminders:
Drivers are not to leave vehicles unattended in Kiss and Ride. The driver must remain in the vehicle at all times. If you need to exit your vehicle you need to park in the parking lot or on the street. No exceptions
Secondly, especially during inclement weather we have many vehicles that need to use the kiss and ride lane to pick up children so we need to keep it moving forward. As such, if you are parked along the Kiss and Ride lane at any point (near the garbage bins or at the bottom of the loop near the field etc.) and there is room for you to move your vehicle forward please do so. This minimizes the convoy of vehicles that are looped around blocking in the parked cars who now cannot get out of parking spaces. It also allows vehicles behind you to also move forward in order to pick up their children.
There is NO PARKING of Parent Vehicles at any time in our Bus Lanes. Bus lanes are located directly in front of the school along the curb.
Vehicle Speed- it is IMPARATIVE that parents/guardians that are using our school lot and Kiss and Ride maneuver their vehicle in a safe manner at all times. This includes coming to a COMPLETE stop at all Stop Signs and looking for pedestrians before putting your vehicle into motion. SPEED should be kept to a slow crawl while on school property.
Also note that parents should NOT be picking up or dropping off students near the portables. This area is NOT a designated drop or or pick up spot and vehicle congestion in that area impedes the ability of our busses and parents vehicles that have used the kiss and ride area properly from being able to exit the school lot safely.
As I am sure we all understand, our first priority is to keep the school parking lot and kiss and ride area safe and free from student/parent/guardian/staff injury. Should issues arise in the kiss and ride area they will be addressed by the teachers on duty and made note of in the office. Issues that need to be addressed repeatedly with the same individuals can result in the inability of those individuals to continue to use our Kiss and Ride to pick up and drop off students.
Thank you for your attention in this matter.

School Cash Online
We have an important change coming to St. Aidan for January 2026!
In order to continue promoting our focus on consistently using School Cash Online beginning with the January 2026 Pizza and Jamaican Patty order (and moving forward) we will no longer be accepting CASH PAYMENT for weekly food items and student events. The school snack shop will be the only exception to this. This means that all families must be registered for School Cash Online to continue to purchase items for their child(ren) including Pizza for Pizza Days, and Jamaican Patties. No extra pizza slices or patties will be sold on pizza or patty days. The Pizza and Patty order for our return in January 2026 will be sent to parents on Tuesday December 2nd and will close on December 16th. This order will need to be placed through School Cash Online.
If you have not yet registered, please use the link below to get started to ensure you are able to submit your order for January.
December Peel Health Update
๐ StopR ๐
If your child rides the bus daily, it is important that they are aware of the safety rules on the bus. Students are required to:
- Listen to the Bus Driver at all times and report any problems or injuries to him/her
- Go directly to their assigned seat and remain seated during the entire bus ride
- Do not eat, drink, swear, fight or chew gum on the bus
- Do not put arms out the window, or throw items or garbage out the window
- Be at least 5 minutes early at your bus stop to ensure that you don't miss the bus
Reminder: Student Transportation Opt-Out Procedure
We would like to remind families of the procedure for opting out of student transportation.
During transportation planning, STOPR automatically assigns school bus transportation to all students who are eligible based on the established distance policies.
If your child is eligible for transportation but does not require bus services for any reason, you must formally opt out. This applies to:
-
Regular or special education students attending after-school programs such as PLASP or YMCA
-
Students who have a babysitter within the walk boundary
-
Students who are consistently driven to and from school by a parent, guardian, or relative
If your child is eligible for the bus this year but will not need transportation for the 2025/2026 school year, please inform your child's teacher or notify the school office. This allows us to update our school bus lists accordingly.
Thank you for your cooperation.
If your child takes the bus remember to check STOPR.ca regularly for updates or changes.

Occupational Therapist Community Letter
SafeVoice
At the beginning of September, we held our Catholic Code of Conduct assemblies with all students. One important topic we covered was the DPCDSB Safe Schools โSafeVOICEโ platformโa tool that allows students to report concerns related to safety, bullying, or well-being in a confidential and respectful manner.
The Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board (DPCDSB) is committed to the safety and well-being of all students. To support this, DPCDSB offers SafeVoice, a confidential Safe Schools Tool for students to share concerns about bullying, harassment, discrimination, or other issues. Students can access SafeVoice from the DPCDSB homepage, the Student Portal, their school website, or directly at dpcdsb.org/SafeVoice. The form allows students to provide information about incidents theyโve experienced or witnessed, including details about who was involved and when and where it took place. Students may choose to remain anonymous or include their name and contact information if they wish to be contacted directly by a school administrator.
All submissions are reviewed by the school Principal and Vice-Principal, unless a concern involves a Principal or Vice-Principal, in which case it is directed to the Superintendent.
SafeVoice is one of the many ways DPCDSB works with students, staff, and families to foster safe, caring, inclusive, and faith-filled school communities.
If you need to share information about a crime, please contact Crime Stoppers, Peel Regional Police, or the Ontario Provincial Police.
