Counselor's Corner
Weekly classroom counseling lessons will start this week.
Our focus is understanding how the school counselor can help our school community!
***
The start of the school year can bring up big feelings as we all settle into new routines. This is completely normal.A few ways to help at home:
- Keep routines consistent โ A predictable morning and bedtime routine helps children feel safe.
- Use brief, caring goodbyes โ A calm and confident farewell can ease separation anxiety.
- Talk positively about school โ Highlight fun activities, friendships, and the caring adults theyโll see each day.
- Reassure them that it's okay to miss home.
With patience and encouragement, these transitions will become easier. Please reach out to teachers, the office staff, or me if you need support or encouragement for you or your child.
Wishing you well,
Ms. Jennifer, East Elementary School Counselor

It is that time of year where your student will need their outside gear.
Be sure to send boots, coats and cold weather items every day.
East Cubs go outside for recess most days no matter the weather, so help them be prepared.
(We will stay indoors if it is extremely cold/icy/windy.)
-Student Screenings-
Annual student health screenings will start shortly.
If you would like to opt your student out of the height and weight portion -
please call Nurse Lisa at 486-7495.
Reminder - We Are Peanut and Tree Nut Free
If you see the note below come home with a food item,
it means the snack or main course item contained nuts.
If it was a main course in your child's lunch, we will offer a school hot lunch for your student to have that day. We will not be able to let your student eat or even open any items containing nuts here at school. Thanks again for your help with keeping our school nut free.
