The Weekly Words
March 15, 2026
At Noble Elementary, we believe that every student has the right to learn and grow in a safe and respectful environment. We also believe that every student has the power to make positive choices, learn from mistakes, and become stronger leaders in our school community. Noble Elementary empowers all students for college and career readiness through AVID’s schoolwide focus on WICOR, student success skills, and a growth mindset.
Our 4th grade music concert was a wonderful celebration of our students’ talent, hard work, and confidence on stage. A special shoutout to Mr. Rossi for his leadership and coordination in bringing this event together for our school community.
Thank you to Mrs. Nalepa, Mrs. Beckles, Mrs. Boyles, Mrs. Ruddy, Ms. Gaines, Mrs. Salvatore, Mrs. Holyk, and Ms. Monroe, along with our specials team – Mrs. Doyle, Sra. Romina, Ms. Miller, and Mr. Wright – for their support in making the evening such a success. We are also grateful to our families and friends for coming out to celebrate and support our amazing 4th graders!
A Very Personal Profession
Team,
Although teaching is a very personal profession, data analysis is not meant to be taken personally. It’s not a reflection on your professionalism, commitment, or skills. We know that we have professional, committed, and skilled teachers, I’m positive of that. Data Analysis is simply breaking down information on why or why not the content was learned or not learned.
As teachers, we have to avoid the mindset of shifting the “blame” to the students. “I taught it, they didn’t learn it,” or “They just didn’t study for the test,” or “They just didn’t try very hard.” These mantras are not solutions orientated and do not lead to correcting student misconceptions. In the end, we as educators are the single greatest influence on student achievement. We must dive deep into the data for the real indicators of why the students did not perform at the highest levels of achievement.
It’s not about “coverage”. Too often we say that success happened because “We covered that really well,” and failure happened because, “We didn’t cover that too much.” Rather than focus on coverage, we need to seek out opportunities to uncover new ideas and transfer them from theory to practice.
Go backward and forward at the same time. As you plan ahead, you will have to be very intentional about how you will review previous material and move onto new content. How can you use every moment to your instructional advantage?
Mr. Walker, M.Ed.
Principal
From the Assistant Principal's Desk
Hi Team,
Thank you for taking time last week to reinforce expectations with students and teams, your focus on behavior and culture continues to make a real difference in our school community. Beginning this week, Mr. Walker and I will be handing out Golden Tickets when we catch classes living out the Noble Big 4 in the hallways, at recess, during dismissal, and throughout the building. Once a class collects 12 Golden Tickets, they will earn a popsicle or chip party from the admin team to celebrate their positive culture and teamwork.
Week 28 showed improvement compared to the previous week, and we appreciate the consistency you bring each day to support students and maintain a safe learning environment. We are also looking forward to family conferences this week, which provide an important opportunity to strengthen partnerships with families as we finish the year strong. If you would like administrative support during a conference, please don’t hesitate to reach out, we are happy to join as needed. Thank you for all you do each day for our students. Three more days with students before break, we’ve got this! Take some time this weekend to recharge so we can finish strong.

Noble Read-a-Thon Fundraiser
We are excited to offer the Reading Rally fundraiser at our school from March 30 – April 16! This is an optional program designed to raise funds for the school while encouraging student literacy. Students and teachers may choose to participate, but it is not required. Each participating student will have an individual online donation page to share with family and friends. Teachers’ main role is to encourage participation, celebrate progress, and support students with reading and goal tracking—most logistics, tracking, and prize fulfillment are handled by the fundraising company and Noble admin. Directions for students and families will be shared during the Morning Show, and prizes will be awarded throughout the campaign for effort and growth.
Student Expectations (Grades Pre-K–5, Optional):
-
Set Reading Goals: Participating students select a goal for the two-week campaign, such as the number of books, pages, or minutes read (Pre-K, K-2 can be read with family member).
-
Track Reading Progress: Students log their reading daily using a classroom chart, reading log, or digital tracker provided by the company/Noble admin.
-
Share and Fundraise: Students may use their personal online page to ask family and friends for donations tied to reading goals (e.g., $1 per book read or $5 per 20 minutes of reading).
-
Engage in Reading: Students are encouraged to complete independent or partner reading sessions and work toward their goals.
-
Celebrate Milestones: Reading achievements contribute to fundraising totals, and students can earn recognition and prizes for participation and growth.
Teachers can support students by checking reading logs, celebrating milestones, and optionally integrating Reading Rally activities into reading instruction or class challenges. This optional program gives students the opportunity to read, engage, and fundraise while keeping participation flexible.
