From The Principal
Happy Thursday Hawkins,
A reminder that we have no school on Friday, February 13th and Monday, February 16th. It was an amazing week here at Hawkins with so many great Valentine activities. I am always intrigued at the creativity of our Hawkins families. I have some news I wanted to share with all of you. I have made the decision, after 37 years in education, to retire at the end of this school year. I have been so blessed to work with such great families and staff, and I hope that I have helped to make Hawkins a better place. When my wife and I found out we were expecting our first child, her father retired, and took care of all of our children growing up. That was such an amazing gift, and I want to be able to do the same for my daughters. I am looking forward to wood working, officiating and being a grandpa. With that being said, I am excited to tell you that your next principal will be Mr. Bill Renner. Many of you know Mr. Renner as the principal of Scranton right now, but before that he was the principal of Spencer Elementary. I had the privilege of working with Mr. Renner, and he is an incredible administrator, and will do phenomenal things for Hawkins. Mr. Renner will be attending Kindergarten Roundup with me on the 23rd of February, and will be attending other events at Hawkins throughout the remainder of the year. As I have said many times, thank you so much for letting me be your principal, and I look forward to an amazing end of the school year. Have a wonderful weekend.
Have a great weekend!
Mr. McAuliffe

Brighton High School Musical Theatre Presents Disney’s Frozen
Brighton High School Musical Theatre Presents Disney’s Frozen March 13–22, 2026
BRIGHTON, Mich. (Feb. 3, 2026) — For the first time in forever, experience the musical phenomenon that has taken the world by storm as Brighton Musical presents Disney’s Frozen, with seven performances March 13–22, 2026, at the Brighton Center for the Performing Arts.
Based on the Academy Award®–winning animated feature film, Disney’s Frozen includes all the film’s beloved songs by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, along with new music written exclusively for the stage.
In the beautiful mountainous kingdom of Arendelle, princesses Anna and Elsa grow up sheltered inside their castle, isolated from the world and increasingly distant from each other. When Elsa is crowned queen, the magical powers she’s desperately tried to conceal from her sister take control, and she flees into the mountains. As a ferocious winter descends on Arendelle, Anna sets off on an epic journey to find Elsa and bring her home — with the help of hardworking ice harvester Kristoff, his loyal reindeer Sven, and a happy-go-lucky snowman named Olaf.
Full of magic, humor, and a stunning musical score, Frozen is a powerful tale of sisterhood, acceptance, and finding the true meaning of love.

About Brighton Musical
Brighton High School prides itself on providing one of the premier musical theatre programs in the region. Consistently nominated for the Sutton Foster Ovation Awards, the program has earned honors including Best Musical (Honeymoon in Vegas, 2017), Best Set Design (The Wizard of Oz, 2022), and Best Music Director (Guys and Dolls, 2023).
This production includes more than 90 talented on- and off-stage cast members from BHS and is directed by the Brighton Musical Creative Team: Josh Holowicki, Michelle Holowicki, Phil Johnson, Sonja Marquis, Bella Rabold, and Kristine Stuenkel.
Red Carpet Gala
An important fundraiser for the theatre program, Red Carpet Gala tickets provide scholarships for students with financial need and support ongoing creative growth. The Gala Night Experience on Saturday, March 14, includes a walk down the red carpet with cast members, pre-show photographs, reserved seating, an exclusive intermission reception with refreshments, a meet-and-greet and behind-the-scenes tour with cast members, and a post-show soirée with the directors and producers.
Just-In-Case Clothes
Please make sure your child has an extra set of clothes in their backpack. Accidents happen while your child is at school (bathroom accidents, playground mishaps, lunchroom spills, ripped or torn clothes, etc.) and we do not have extra clothes to lend out. Having an extra set here at school saves parents from having to make a trip to Hawkins during the day. We appreciate your help!
