Hello wonderful Panther Lake families and community,
It has been a busy week of learning at Panther Lake Elementary and we are taking full advantage of the beautiful weather we are having this first week of October!
Safe School Lesson with the Principal
As you have seen in every newsletter since school started, we are continuing to support our scholars with following school expectations. As a school principal, it is my job to keep our school safe by ensuring we have a safe learning environment for all. However, I can only do so much at the school level. It is time for us to step up as a community and support our scholars with learning how to be safe, problem solve, and resolve conflict with civility.
Over the next few weeks, I will be engaging one grade level at a time in the gym for a Safe School lesson. I would love to encourage you to participate in this time with your scholar if your schedule allows. In these lessons, I will be covering the following topics at a developmentally appropriate level:
- Emotional, Mental, Physical, and Spiritual Safety
- Cultural Awareness/Language Diversity
- Neurodiversity
- Body Boundaries/Safe and Unsafe Touch
- Consequences (to include suspension)
I highly encourage you to attend if you can. I cannot stress this message enough and I truly am seeking your partnership to support your scholar with adjusting back into school.
Kids Night Out
In the weeks to come, you will receive more information about Panther Lake's new Kids Night Out events! Kids Night Out is an event for scholars to attend once a month after school. Scholars who attend school 95% or more of the time for the month will receive a special invitation to Kids Night Out. This evening event is three hours and affords your scholar an opportunity to hang out with their friends on a Friday night in school with supervision and fun activities. This celebration also gives our families three hours of time on a Friday night- We know you support your scholar with getting them to school everyday! Stay tuned for more information.
