Thornton Creek Digest
Dec. 17, 2025
From the Principal
Dear TC Community,
Wishing you all a holiday break filled with moments of peace, joy, and relaxation as we close out the calendar year.
This morning, our campus was filled with music thanks to Mr. E and the Eckstein Senior Jazz Band who shared their incredible talents. It is always such a welcomed visit to our campus.
A quick reminder that this Friday is a one-hour early release, with dismissal at 1:25 p.m.
We look forward to returning in January ready to hit the ground running with school tours, Talent Show rehearsals, and many more exciting opportunities ahead. I also look forward to welcoming everyone back with a Welcome Back Community Coffee on Wednesday, January 8th at 8 a.m.
As a reminder, Open Enrollment for School Choice will be happening when we return from break, also. Be sure to check out the Open Enrollment for School Choice page for more details.
Applications for tiebreak decisions are due by January 31.
Be safe. Be kind. Enjoy your time together.
Warmly,
Brandee
Our TC Community Resource Guide is complete!
We are so excited to share that our new Community Resource Guide is officially finished and ready for families. A huge shout-out to everyone who contributed to bringing this important resource to life—TCPG, Melissa Johnson, and Margaret Woley, our BLT parent representative. Thank you all for your time, care, and collaboration.
We hope this guide serves as a helpful hub of information and support for our entire TC community.

Applying to Thornton Creek | New Process
To summarize:
- Students are assigned to their attendance area school (not Thornton Creek).
- Families must apply to Thornton Creek through the "Open Enrollment for School Choice Process." This includes families with students in our current PreSchool cohort.
- An application to a Choice School does not guarantee an assignment.
- To apply, submit a "School Choice form" via the Source between January 5th and January 31st.
- Families new to SPS will be able to submit their School Choice request with their registration.
