Sports Day 2019

What a sunny mid-November morning! Kuei Shan School’s Sports Day 2019 got off to a fine start. All participants were amazed by variety of outstanding and original performances from each grade. We even had teachers to dance a bit to kick the brilliant day off this year! Way to go, everyone :)

We dance, we laugh, and cheer up together! In this sunny day, Grades 1-10 students dance energetically and harmoniously in the wide green field. Lovely, folks!

What is the most precious memory between brothers and sisters? For most of us, it would be collaborating with one another for fun games! For G9-10 and PK-3 students, they worked with each other in "Conveyor Belt"--it was a game of support and trust! Enjoy brotherhood and sisterhood!

Wow! Where can you find more people roaring with laughter on a Sports Day? In fun games, we cheered up one another.

Don't worry about falling on the ground--we stand up and keep moving!

The Grade 1 to 3 students were full of excitement and anticipation for the obstacle course to commence. Not only did they try their best but they had fun completing the course.

One more pull and we will win the game! Every year, we have tug of war for various grades, teachers and parents on Sports Day. We stand firm, pull hard and stay focused on the rope. Look at how orchestrated these 4th and 5th graders are in the game!

Your actions can make a difference! Hope Town aims to spread hope everywhere, even to the smallest corners of the world. We are offering financial support for the Thailand Mission Trip and World Vision Club in their pursuit to not only subsidize children in poverty, but also participate in the funding to local Christian cemeteries in Thailand. The world is becoming a better place for our efforts.

In addition, creating an environmentally-friendly fundraiser is also one of the main objectives of this event. Booths are not allowed to give out non-reusable tableware and customers are expected to bring their own. This is to minimize the amount of garbage produced during the process and achieving this eco-friendly goal in a most practical way. From this event of love and friendliness, Hope Town is a place where hope is spread.

We enjoyed the day :)

Nice run, all of you :)

It's 7:40 and the high school is off to a running start! We started with the Girls and Boys 1600m run, Boys 400m, and Girls 400m. The air was cool but the action fast as the top runners in MYP and DP competed in the early morning shadow.

Folks have yet to arrive: the younger grades are still getting ready, the middle grades starting to trickle in, but high school is working responsibly, setting up the booths and preparing the food in anticipation for the crowds to come.

Did you have much fun today? Did you visit our Hope Town stands? Did you run, dance, laugh, enjoy the sunshine and high-five a lot? Certainly we will miss all the excitement and fun. See you in 2020 :)

"But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me" (Philippians 3:13-14).

The Sports Day 2019 Event provides opportunities for students to develop all attributes of the IB learner profile by focusing on three core objectives: (1) developing physical literacy, (2) promoting student agency, and (3) forming good character.

What a blessing to have all events and everyone here today!
