Thank you JAG NATION!
We had a wonderful first three days of school at Cedar Shoals High School. Thank you to all of our students, parents, staff members, alumni and community members who helped make the first days of school successful. We are excited to see what the year has in store for the Jaguars as we continue to move with PURPOSE, strive with Jaguar PRIDE, and achieve EXCELLENCE!
Open House: Tuesday, August 18th
Cedar Shoals Open House will be held on Tuesday, August 18th from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm. All students (9th, 10th, 11th & 12th) and their families are invited! The campus will be open for guests to tour, meet faculty, and learn about opportunities at Cedar Shoals High School.
School Picture Day: Friday, August 21st
Picture day is Friday, August 21st for all 9th-11th grade students. All students should plan to take school pictures for a new student ID card. Students will take pictures throughout the day according to their last name alphabetically and should miss no more than 5-10 minutes of class time.
Scheduling Information
Students can use their Clarke County email to complete this form: bit.ly/26ceddropadd to request a consideration for a change for courses listed on their 2026-27 schedule (BOTH Fall and Spring semesters). Requests will be honored as space permits, and ONLY if they meet the requirements listed below. There are class size requirements that must be met and drop/add requests that would take a class above a maximum or below a minimum will be denied.
Counselors and scheduling administrator will work on drop/add requests as quickly as possible. The drop/add period will officially end on Wednesday, August 12, 2026 at 4PM. Level changes will extend until the end of the first grading period for Fall 2026.
Concerns will not be addressed unless they are on the form. Please do not send additional follow-up emails. All correspondence about scheduling will be sent to the student's Clarke County email. Drop/add will be handled by the appropriate counselor as listed on the attached graphic.
Device Reminders!
Starting each day prepared helps set our Jaguars up for success! Please remember to bring your fully charged CCSD laptop and charger to school every day. Having your device ready for class ensures students can participate in lessons, complete assignments, access digital resources, and stay engaged throughout the school day. If you've lost your charger, you can purchase a replacement from the district for $25, or you can buy a compatible charger from retailers like Walmart - $6.99 or Amazon $9.99. Click here to read the full CSHS Chromebook Policy.
Nominate a Teacher of the Year!
Nominate a Teacher of the Year for Cedar Shoals! The nomination process for our 2026-27 school-level Teacher of the Year awards has begun. The nomination form can be found at bit.ly/ccsdteachernomination.
Complete the form by entering the name of the school, the name of the teacher, and why you believe they are deserving of the award. If you wish to nominate multiple teachers, please complete one form per teacher. Please submit your nomination(s) by August 9th!
Transportation- Plan Accordingly!
Student Parking:
Student parking permits will go on sale next week. All students who park on campus must register their vehicle and provide proper documentation to prevent the vehicle from being towed. More information about purchasing permits will be sent next week.
Bus Information:
Many students do not know their bus number. Please make sure that your child knows their bus number and bus route. Each bus has been assigned a bus route. Students and families can access bus route information at this link. Additional transportation information can be found on the school district's website here.
Car Line:
Students are to be dropped off and picked up in front of the main academic building. Due to volume, the line does back up and can take a while. In the morning, please give yourself PLENTY of time to ensure your student(s) arrives to first period class on time. We typically see our highest traffic volume between 8:20-8:40 am. Students are allowed to be dropped off as early as 8:00 am and can occupy the lunchroom until school begins.
Car Line Rules:
- For morning drop off, please pull all the way forward to maximize drop off efficiency and keep the line moving. Dropping students off directly in front of the school doors causes traffic to back up.
- Drivers must be fully attentive to students and staff at all crosswalks. Cell phone usage must be hands-free.
