February marks the start of the school budget season. As many of you are aware, public schools continue to face significant underfunding challenges. Once we receive our official budget later this month, our team will begin strategizing how to maximize every dollar for our students. Your perspective is vital to this process—please take a moment to complete the 2026-2027 Sanford Caregiver Values and Budget Survey below to ensure your voice is heard.

This message is for families who have students in after-school on Thursdays.

On Thursday, February 12th, Sanford has parent-teacher conferences. After-school clubs that are led by a Sanford Licensed Staff member will be cancelled so those staff can hold conferences.

The cancelled classes are:

Create with Clay - Unified

Flux

Lego Club

Open Gym - Unified

The following Community Ed class WILL run:

Open Sewing Studio

Urban Debate League

YWCA Girls, Inc

Our winter conferences style matches what we did in the Fall:

Thursday Night February 12, 4-8pm: This is a drop-in style session. You do not need an appointment to speak with teachers. One Spanish translator will be present (funded by the PTA).
Friday Day February 13, 8-4pm: These are scheduled sessions. We prioritize students who require specific interventions first. Once those targeted conferences are set, we open the remaining slots to all families. These scheduled conferences can be virtual or in person and will have multiple translators available - please indicate these needs when you schedule. The scheduled conferences window will open Friday, January 30, 2026 and the link will be shared in this newsletter.

Pre Order Your Sanford Swag Today!

The Sanford PTA is excited to offer you a chance to pre order some cozy Sanford Swag! We are offering pajama pants, hoodies, T shirts and hats in new colors and styles! Pre ordering is live now and available until February 20th. Merchandise will be available a few weeks after that and can be picked up at the school. Don't miss out! Parkway Pizza Fundraiser on Monday, February 9th

20% of all dine in orders on Monday at Parkway Pizza will be donated back to the Sanford PTA! Bring your friends and family and support Sanford with a fun night out!

Our next meeting is February 24th from 6:00p-7:30p in the media center at Sanford. Enter through the main entrance - Door 12. All are welcome!
