senior family update
๐ Extra Graduation Tickets!! ๐
We will have a limited number of extra commencement ceremony tickets available on a first-come, first-served basis. Seniors may claim these tickets tomorrow morning during the rehearsal.
There is a strict limit of one extra ticket per senior student.
๐ง Calvin University Campus Construction ๐ง
The road will be closed between our Lake Drive entrance and the parking lots near the fieldhouse.
I would recommend attendees enter campus from Burton street or the East Beltline. The Lake drive entrance is still open, but if attendees enter there they will need to drive all the way around the campus loop to park in the lots near the fieldhouse.
We are excited for all of you and look forward to the upcoming months full of joy and celebration. We want to share important details about graduation events, including dates, times, behavior expectations, and dress code. Please note the schedule for each senior event. We're delighted to share this special time with you and your loved ones. High school graduation is a significant milestone, and we're eager to join in the fun-filled events ahead!
Bookmark this page to refer back to throughout the year.
Updates & changes will be posted here.
Commencement Tickets (8 per senior)
Tickets for seniors will be distributed during the Senior Luncheon in the South Gym, following the Candlelight Assembly on May 12th. If students are unable to pick them up at the luncheon, they can collect their tickets in the main office that afternoon.
Reminder that all senior obligations need to be taken care of before tickets can be issued. This includes settling any parking fines, returning textbooks and library items, turning in uniforms for athletics, choir, or band, returning equipment from Gone Boarding, and any outstanding project fees.
If your family is in need of extra tickets, we ask that you coordinate with fellow senior families that will not be using all of their allotted tickets.
We will not have extra tickets in the office. Many parents post their request for extra tickets on the FHN Class of 2026 Parent Group.
Scholarships/Awards/Post-High School Plans
๐ Post-Graduation Plans for the FHPS June edition of the FOCUS ๐
We want to celebrate your achievements! Please share your post-high school plansโincluding the college you will attend, scholarships, honors, military service, or career pathsโusing the link below.
Important Guidelines:
Final Choice Only: Only submit information for the institution you have been accepted to and officially plan to attend.
FHPS FOCUS: This information will be printed in the June edition of the FOCUS.
Deadline: Please submit your details no later than Friday, May 15, 2026.
This is done to avoid duplication of entries.
Reminder: Mandatory Graduation Survey
As you gear up for graduation, there is one final (and very quick) task to cross off your list: the Naviance Graduation Survey.
Why this matters
Your final transcript will not be processed or sent to your future college or employer until this survey is submitted. We want to ensure your post-grad transition is as smooth as possible!
How to complete it
Where: Log into Naviance. Look for the "What's New" section on the right-hand side of your homepage.
Time: It takes less than five minutes.
Instructions: Detailed steps can be found [here].
Important Details
Who: All seniors must complete this, regardless of your post-high school plans.
Changes: If your plans change after you hit submit, please contact your counselor directly to update your record.
Clarification: Please note that this is separate from the Post Graduation Plans survey for the FHPS FOCUS. Even if you filled that one out, you still need to complete this one.
Congratulations on reaching the finish line! Letโs get those transcripts ready to go.
Senior Recognition/ Candlelight Ceremony

By combining Candlelight Ceremony with the Senior Celebration, we hope to create one meaningful and memorable eventโwhile also being mindful of your time during this very busy season. Families are warmly invited to attend and celebrate all that our seniors have accomplished.
Lunch for seniors will be provided immediately after the ceremony in the south gym.
โญTickets will be provided to seniors immediately following Senior Luncheon. If students arenโt able to collect their tickets at the luncheon, the tickets will be available to pick up in the main office in the afterwards.

๐ Capture Your Graduation Memories!
Congratulations, Huskies! As the Class of 2026 prepares to walk the stage, we want to ensure every graduate has a seamless way to view their graduation photos.
๐ธ Your Official Photographer
We are excited to announce that Jim Hill Photography will be on-site capturing the professional moments of our ceremony. To ensure your photos find their way to you, please complete the registration process before the big day.
๐ How to Register
Instead of searching through thousands of images of your classmates, follow these steps to get your personalized gallery:
Visit the Registration Link: Go to https://www.quic.pics/checkin/27360107.
Upload a Selfie: You will be prompted to provide a selfie during registration. This allows the system's facial recognition to automatically find you in the crowd.
Wait for the Alert: After graduation, you will receive an automated email or text message the moment your photos are ready.
Private Preview: The link you receive is just for you! You can preview your individual photos privately before deciding which ones to keep.
๐พ Don't Miss Out!
Registering early means one less thing to worry about during the graduation rush.
Commencement Attire
Graduation is a dignified occasion, and we ask that students dress in a manner reflective of this significant milestone. To ensure a uniform and polished appearance for the ceremony, please adhere to the following regalia standards:
The Gown: To ensure a professional look, all gowns should be steamed or pressed with a cool iron prior to the ceremony and fully zipped.
> Pro-tip: Academic fabric melts easilyโplease avoid high heat!
The Cap: Caps (mortarboards) must be worn flat on the head, parallel to the ground, rather than tilted back. Use hairpins if necessary to secure the cap to your hair.
No Decorations: To maintain the tradition and decorum of the event, no decorations, signs, or embellishments are permitted on the caps.
Pre-Commencement Conduct & Expectations
As we approach the end of the year, we want to remind our seniors that the choices they make nowโboth in and out of schoolโdirectly impact their final milestones.
To ensure a safe and celebratory environment, please be aware that any violation of FHN/District policies (including the use, possession, or sale of drugs/alcohol) or participation in vandalism/pranks may result in the loss of the privilege to participate in graduation ceremonies. Additionally, students found on school grounds outside of supervised hours may face legal action.
Participation in the commencement ceremony is a privilege, not a right. Students may be prohibited from participating in the ceremony as a consequence for misconduct. A studentโs disqualification from participating in the commencement ceremony does not impact the issuance of a diploma to the student, provided that all graduation requirements have been satisfied.
We ask families to partner with us in supervising student activities during these final weeks. Our goal is for every senior to walk across that stage and celebrate their achievements without compromise.
