Options for Returning to School
Option 1: Returning to school for in-person instruction
Option 2: Homeschooling (parents oversee this, they have to register to the district)
Option 3: Distributed Learning (from a DL school)
The fourth option, which will be given in a survey to parents,
Option 4: Temporary Transition Option
Parents will get to choose to keep their children at home but still connected to the school community and can stay registered to our school. IT IS NOT a distance learning option. The student can maintain their classroom placement at the school and will be able to transition to in-person instruction.
There will be two dates that these students can choose to return to school. The proposed dates are Oct 13 (after Thanksgiving) and Jan 4 (after Christmas break). These dates are not yet firm.
What it will look like for us:
1. These students will start on Sept 18. (In person will still start on Sept 10)
2. Teachers will collect work that needs to be completed throughout the week and will be available for pick up on Fridays.
3. Teachers are not expected to Zoom or meet virtually with students. They will be available via email or classroom platform to answer questions (SeeSaw or Google Classroom)
I would suggest that you post the work on those platforms to lessen the pickups.
4. Students' work will be marked for completion and not necessarily marks
To date we have had about 6 students withdraw. To be honest, I don't know what will happen to our numbers once this option is given.
I pray for the parents who are making these decisions for their children and for all of you. I understand how difficult it is to plan when things are always changing. Thank you so much for your support at this time!
