Fall Fun Fest This Thursday
We are still in need of families and community members to sign up to help at the Fall Fun Fest this Thursday, October 23rd from 6-7:30 pm in the school parking lot and playground! Volunteers are needed to host trunks, run game booths, donate candy, and assist with setup and cleanup. Community partners and area businesses are invited to host trunks, as well, so please help spread the word. Please sign up to help today!
Family Conferences - October 29th-30th
If you did not pick them up at Curriculum Night in August, students in grades 4-8 who participated in the MAP Assessment at Citizens last year will be able to get their 2025 MAP scores during these conferences.
There will be no CampFire on October 29th to accommodate the space needed for conferences. Please be sure that you have DashPass set up for quick pickup! Our car line requires an active account to keep the process moving, so you will be rerouted to the front of the school if you do not have it set up. Please email Mr. Blake by Monday, October 27th with any questions or issues with setup.
Additionally, there will be no school on October 30th for conferences and no school on October 31st for fall break.
Scholastic Book Fair - October 29th-30th
Families are encouraged to stop by the book fair while at school for family conferences next week, October 29th-30th! A variety of books for all ages and other items will be available for purchase.
The book fair will be open for purchases during Family Conferences only, so please do not send money to school with your students.
We’re looking for volunteers to help make this event a success! Please consider signing up for a 2-hour shift during conferences to help our book fair run smoothly!
Volunteer Webpage
If you're ever looking for ways to support our school, we hope you'll stop by the Volunteer page of the Citizens website! In addition to information about getting your background screenings, you can always find current volunteer signups and wish lists. Most recently, a wish list with snacks for staff was added - we'd love your help making sure our teachers stay fueled up during conferences and all year long! We appreciate all of the ways that our families show up to support our students and staff!
Middle School Debate Team's First Tournament
The season-opening tournament last night, hosted at Sumner Middle School. There were 15 different middle schools present, and more than 225 students competing. LeAnthony Briggs finished 8th overall in his event chamber, in which there were 84 competitors. Jewel Carreon and Zoey Oquendo went undefeated, finishing 7th overall, just missing the Top 5 by a total of 4 speaker points. Also, a big shout out to Zoey Oquendo, who finished as the 17th best overall speaker at the tournament, out of 70 speakers in her division! As a team CWC finished eighth overall out of the 15 middle schools. What a great showing for our first-ever debate event! Go Chameleons!
