Elementary Achievement Indicators Elementary Achievement Indicators

Achievement Scale: Understanding Your Child's Learning

Student learning will be reported using our five-level achievement scale. The scale reflects how well a student is demonstrating the grade-level learning outcomes in the Alberta curriculum.

  • E – Excellent: Demonstrates an in-depth and sophisticated understanding of grade-level outcomes and applies learning confidently in a variety of situations.

  • P – Proficient: Demonstrates a solid understanding of grade-level outcomes and consistently meets grade-level expectations.

  • B – Basic: Demonstrates a developing understanding of the outcomes and meets the minimum acceptable grade-level expectations.

  • PR – Progressing Toward Grade Level: Demonstrates a beginning understanding of the outcomes and is working toward meeting grade-level expectations with continued support.

  • I – Insufficient Evidence: There is not yet enough evidence of learning to evaluate achievement.

Growth as a Learner

In elementary school, students are also assessed on Growth as a Learner, which is reported separately from academic achievement. This area is divided into Social Development and Work and Study Habits to better reflect each student's strengths and areas for growth.

If your child will be absent, please let us know at spcsattendance@rdcrs.ca

or call 403-343-3238.

All students arriving late must check in at the office for a late slip. A late slip must be given to the classroom teacher upon admittance to class. The doors open at 8:25 a.m. - all students should be going to class by this time. Class begins at 8:35 a.m. It is important that students are in class ready to begin the day with prayer and announcements.

All students leaving the school during school hours must be signed out by a parent at the office.
