North Little Rock School District

The North Little Rock School District will observe Labor Day on Monday, September 4. All schools and Central Office sites will be closed.

Since we are out on Monday, there will be no early release on Wednesday, September 6. Early Release Wednesdays will only take place when school is in session a full week.

We kindly ask parents and caregivers to drop off and pick up students on W 22nd Street, which is in front of the school building. It creates a safety hazard when students are picked up and dropped off on Main Street.

The safety of our students and staff remains our top priority.

The North Little Rock School District will not enter an agreement with Woodberry Associates, a Washington, D.C.-based firm, to support the Communications Office. The district will develop a long-term plan to reorganize the Communications Office.

Last Friday, NLRHS and the Center of Excellence went into a hold and secure state as the North Little Rock Police Department worked a situation at the post office on Pershing Boulevard. NLRHS and COE staff and the Safety Services Department quickly sprang into action to protect the students and their colleagues.

The North Little Rock Chamber of Commerce’s youth leadership program, North Little Rock Youth Leadership, is beginning its twenty-ninth year of building and empowering students to become the next future leaders.

The rebranded program is designed for high school JUNIORS who live in North Little Rock without regard to which school they attend and to students from surrounding areas that attend North Little Rock High School and North Little Rock Center of Excellence. Students are excused from five days of classes to attend sessions.

This is an excellent opportunity to put on scholarship applications.

The deadline to apply is September 13.
