It’s That Time of Year! 🎉 The St. Luke’s Fund Is Underway!
The St. Luke’s Fund is officially underway, and we’re excited to kick off another year of giving! Watch the message below from Head of School Mike Jenkins to hear why this campaign matters and how your support makes an impact across the Hilltop.
Every student at St. Luke’s benefits from the generosity of our community. The St. Luke’s Fund helps provide the opportunities, resources, and experiences that go beyond the day-to-day—supporting academics, the arts, athletics, leadership and service, STEM and innovation, campus safety, faculty development, and so much more.
While tuition supports the essential operations of the school, the St. Luke’s Fund helps us invest in the vision for what’s next. It’s one of the ways we come together as a community to make the St. Luke’s experience possible for every Tiger.
This year, we’re once again working toward 100% participation from our families, faculty and staff, and Board of Trustees. Every gift matters, regardless of size, because participation itself sends a meaningful message of support for our school and our students.
Ready to make a pledge or donation? We’re grateful to have you alongside us as we continue building what’s next for St. Luke’s. 💙
All gifts are fully tax-deductible.
A Message from Fund Chairs Katherine & Robert Trimble
Robert and I are blessed to be part of the SLES community. Our St. Luke's journey began when William was 3 years old. In fact, all three of our children started school at St. Luke's in PK3. William is now in 7th grade, Eleanor is in 5th grade and our youngest, Howie, is starting his adventure in Kindergarten. From the very first day, our children have been excited to learn, eager to come to school, and surrounded by teachers who genuinely know and love them. St. Luke's has become so much more than a school, it has become our second home and an unwavering, supportive community.
We whole heartedly support the St. Luke's Fund because we know William, Eleanor, Howie, and all of your children are developing skills that will serve them for a lifetime. We invite you to join us in this effort!

October Grandparent & Special Friend Lunches!
We are so excited to invite you to Grandparents and Special Friends Lunch at St. Luke's Episcopal School! This is a wonderful way to experience your student's day and see our vibrant school community firsthand.
To make sure everyone has a great time, please review these quick details:
- Sign-up required: Space is limited for each grade.
- Limit one visit: Please sign up only once per student this fall semester so every family gets a turn.
- No outside food: Due to severe food allergies, please do not bring outside food or drinks.
We look forward to sharing a wonderful lunch with you!
Week 5: Chores Are More Than Chores
This semester, Rachel Sanborn’s Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) Snapshot will feature weekly, parent-friendly takeaways from Jessica Lahey’s book The Gift of Failure. Mrs. Sanborn, along with Student Achievement Coordinator, Donna Finch will wrap up the series with a book talk at the December 1st Parent Council Coffee.
Laundry, dishes, making lunches, feeding pets, and cleaning up may seem like everyday tasks, but Lahey sees them as opportunities to build responsibility, competence, and belonging. When children contribute to the family, they learn that they are capable and that their actions matter. The goal isn't perfection—it's participation and independence. This week, consider one responsibility you can hand over to your child, even if they don't do it exactly the way you would.

Girls Lacrosse is coming to St. Luke’s! 🥍
Thanks to growing interest from our St. Luke’s families, we’re excited to introduce Girls Lacrosse for 1st–4th grade! SLES parent McLean Russell is working alongside Athletic Director Ed Burton to bring this exciting new opportunity to the Hilltop.
Girls lacrosse is a fast-paced, non-contact sport that builds confidence, coordination, agility, and camaraderie. And with many players in San Antonio learning the game together, no previous lacrosse experience is necessary!
The girls lacrosse season runs in the Spring, and we’ll be sharing more information at a later date. In the meantime, if your child is interested in playing, please fill out the interest form below!
This year will serve as a pilot season for girls lacrosse at St. Luke’s. We’re excited to see our students embrace the sport, build a team, and grow together. If the program is a successful fit for our community, we look forward to continuing to build and offer lacrosse at St. Luke’s in the years ahead.
Practices and games will not conflict with other St. Luke’s sports. Games will be held on weekends, allowing our Tigers to participate in multiple sports throughout the year.
We can’t wait to see our Tigers take the field!
