Let's Go, Timberwolves!

This annual Trailside tradition is our biggest fundraiser of the year! Thank you for your support, and we can't wait to celebrate with everyone at the Fall Festival on October 2nd!

With one week left to go, we have raised $6,190 of our $22,000 goal. We now we can meet our goal with the help of our crew. All donations, big and small, add up to opportunities for our students!

Donate here or set up a fundraising page for your student to share with friends and family!

🍬 Candy Donations Needed for the Fun Run! 🍬

Trailside's Fun Run is almost here, and we need your help to make it extra sweet! Every student will receive a bag of candy at the conclusion of the fun run as a celebration of their hard work. All donated candy will be combined and divided evenly, so each student receives a similar amount.

How to help: Please send in bags or boxes of individually wrapped candy by September 28. Donations can be dropped off at front office.

Every donation, big or small, helps us celebrate all of our runners. Thank you for your generosity and for supporting our fun run!

Warmly,

Jessie Massey, Principal

Our 6th grade students had an amazing time at Cal-Wood last week! They bonded with their Crew, spent time in nature and persevered through new challenges.

Community Voice Council Update

This morning, the Community Voice Council (formerly SAAC) met for the first meeting of the year. We discussed current enrollment, CMAS data and the School Performance Framework, and discretionary budget for the school year. Our discussion topic was Communication, and families provided feedback about their experiences so far this year. Parents of elementary school students also expressed a desire to learn more about Trailside's middle school. Check out the slides below for more detailed information about the agenda items!

Also, mark your calendars for the next meeting of the CVC on Friday, December 11th at 8:15am!

Adams County Fire Open House

Adams County Fire Station 11 is hosting a free Open House on Saturday, October 3, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and families are invited to come meet the firefighters who keep our community safe.

Visitors can tour the station and climb up close to the fire engines and medic units that respond to emergencies around the district. Crews will also put on live demonstrations, along with technical rescue skills. One of the day's biggest stars has four paws. Apollo, the department's new arson dog, will be on hand to meet guests.

District residents also have a chance to win two one-of-a-kind experiences: sharing a dinner with a fire crew, or having your child arrive at school aboard a fire engine. Imagine that drop-off line! Check out the attached flyers for more information.

📚 Introducing Our New Literati Book Fair!

We’re excited to introduce a new way for Trailside families to discover and enjoy great books! Our online Literati Book Fair is open now through October 16, so you can shop anytime from home.

We’ll also have an in-person book fair at Trailside Academy on October 14 & 15 from 7:30 AM–7:00 PM.

The best part? A portion of purchases from both the online and in-person fair goes back to our school to help purchase books for our library and teachers. 📚❤️

We hope you’ll join us in celebrating reading and helping us build our school’s collection! Start shopping today! Scan the QR code or visit our school fair link!

Thank you for supporting Trailside and our readers! 📖✨ A special thank you goes out to Kendra, John, Erika, Stephen and Vanessa, PIE library champions and Book Fair organizers!

Copies are available in the main office, or you can access the forms online and email a completed copy to TrailsideOffice@mapleton.us. Please note, we also need a copy of your license to complete the background check. Click here for answers to frequently asked questions about the background check.

🍎🍎🍎 Meal Benefit Application 🍎🍎🍎

October 1, 2026

In Colorado, October 1st is October Count Day! Schools receive funding for each student who is in attendance on October 1st. We will have some fun surprises at school, so we hope to see every student there that day!

The Trailside Crew is excited to see every student, every day!

Attendance Matters!

Check out this information about attendance from our Student and Family Handbook. If you have questions about how many days your student has missed, we are happy to share!

Our goal is to work with families to make sure students are at school every day. Absences have a

negative effect on instructional continuity. Make-up work is not a substitute for instruction

received in the classroom. Please schedule vacations during school breaks, as they will be

considered an unexcused absence. In order for an extended illness of 3 or more consecutive days to be excused, a doctor’s note must be provided. If you are unable to schedule a medical appointment outside of school hours, please provide a note from the provider to excuse the absence. Please contact the main office for additional attendance inquiries.

In Colorado, chronic absenteeism is missing 10% or more of the school year. Truancy is 10 or more

unexcused absences in a year or 4 or more unexcused absences in a month. Per district policy, once a student has reached 10 total absences, excused or unexcused, the student may be placed on an attendance contract. Any student on an attendance contract is required to have proof of illness for every subsequent absence.

Absences

While we want every child at school, on time, every day, we also understand that illness and emergencies can happen. If they do, please notify TrailsideOffice@mapleton.us or call 303.853.3047. Your communication helps us account for every student, promoting safety for our children.
