Murray Pilots
March
Dear Murray Families and Caregivers,
As we look ahead to the coming weeks, we’re encouraged by the signs of spring just around the corner. With longer days and warmer weather, there’s a renewed sense of energy and optimism throughout our community.
Over the past months, the ways we support Murray families in need have continued to shift and evolve. While some challenges have changed, we recognize that many families are still navigating what our community’s new “normal” looks like. Please know that the Murray PTO remains committed to listening, adapting, and doing our best to provide meaningful support where it’s needed most.
As more of our students return to in-person learning, we want to reassure you that student safety continues to be a top priority. The Murray PTO will maintain daily school patrol coverage at all bus times—morning and afternoon—as well as on Tuesdays and Thursdays during Extended Day Learning (EDL). We are grateful to our volunteers who make this possible and help ensure a safe and smooth experience for our students.
We are also pleased to share that we are actively working with Murray administration and staff to continue operating the Murray Market into the next school year. This resource has been an important source of support for many families, and we are dedicated to sustaining and strengthening it moving forward.
Thank you for your continued partnership, generosity, and care for one another. Together, we are building a stronger, more connected Murray community.
Wishing you and your family a wonderful start to the spring season.
With care and solidarity,
Lynnae Erwin, President

Announcements
8th Grade Trip to Washington DC
We are excited to offer our students a meaningful and life-changing opportunity to explore our nation’s capital from October 15–18, 2026. This experience will help students engage deeply with history, leadership, culture, and civic responsibility as they visit some of the most significant landmarks in the country.
Throughout the trip, students will tour places such as the U.S. Capitol, Supreme Court, Arlington National Cemetery, Smithsonian Museums, MLK Memorial, and much more.
Our travel partner, WorldStrides, provides a safe, structured program that includes transportation, hotel accommodations, meals, educational materials, and professional Course Leaders to guide the tour. They also offer flexible payment plans, fundraising tools, and financial assistance for qualifying families.
In addition, to support all families and help make this trip more accessible, we will also be working closely with our PTO to coordinate additional fundraising opportunities throughout the year.
To reserve a spot, families only need to submit a $49 deposit. You can still take advantage of the early registration discount $100 off when you sign up by November 27, 2025.

The Murray Market
In the last several weeks, Murray students and families have continued to rely on the Murray Market for essential groceries, household goods, toiletries, and clothing. We’ve been working hard to keep shelves stocked with commonly requested items—and even adding a few fun extras to bring a little joy, like Takis, cookies, and candy. Sometimes, those small treats can make a big difference.
Our students have played an incredible role in the success of the Market. During their Foundations time, many have stepped up to volunteer—helping unload, carry, unpack, and organize donations. Their sense of ownership and willingness to contribute has truly been a driving force behind the Market’s impact.
The Murray Market is stocked entirely through the generosity of our community. Every item on the shelves has been donated by someone who cares deeply about supporting Murray families.
As demand continues to grow, we need your help to keep the shelves full. Please consider:
- Purchasing items from our Amazon Wishlist
- Donating through the GiveMN Murray PTO fundraiser
- Sharing these links with friends, family, neighbors, and local businesses who may want to support
Your generosity keeps our shelves full and ensures Murray students and families have access to what they need — with dignity and care.
Thank you for being part of this incredible community.
