SHS is Cooking: Here, There, and Everywhere!

While students in FACS have done some baking in traditional ovens and are pictured below enjoying some delicious cake and sporting their hairnets in honor of Mrs. Lehrke's birthday, astronomy students whipped up some s'mores using solar ovens.

Thinking like engineers, building their own solar ovens, and learning about nuclear fusion and the energy from the sun, students learned how solar ovens can be used as a clean energy source for cooking. The winners with the highest temperature at 110 degree Fahrenheit

were Berklee, Dakota, and Javaya.

Courage is a Flower that Dares to Bloom in the Snow

Intro to Ag students are ready for Valentine's Day as they are now flower experts, and even were able to make some blooms of their own! After studying the parts of a flower, students then created and labeld their own. Pictured are Hank, Owen, and Ella, proud of their blossoms, and Dallas, who learned that the anther is the part that produces pollen, and that he may be allergic to his own creation!
