Welcome to a brand-new school year at Rees Elementary Performing and Visual Arts Academy! We are thrilled to begin another exciting journey of learning, creativity, and growth with your child.

This year, we continue to shine a spotlight on student potential through academics and the arts. From music and dance to theater and visual arts, our PVA Academy will offer students rich, hands-on learning experiences that fuel imagination and confidence.

We want to thank you for your continued support, especially after a fantastic school year full of student achievements. Your partnership plays a key role in our success, and we're grateful to have you as part of the Rees community.

Student T-Shirts will be for sale at Meet the Teacher. T-Shirts will be $18 and we will be accepting cash or credit cards. As a reminder, students may wear jeans any day of the week with the Rees Spirit Shirt!

• Thursday, August 7: 4:30-6:30 p.m. Meet the Teacher (you may bring school supplies to drop-off, also)
• Tuesday, August 12: Doors will open at 7:15 a.m. and parents may walk students back to the classroom.
• Friday, August 15: All bus-riding students must wear SMART tags daily
• Wednesday, August 20: CJ Stroud Day (#7 for our seventh day of school) or your favorite Texan shirt
• Thursday, August 21: 3:45 Families Actively and Meaningfully Engaged (FAME) committee meeting
• Tuesday, August 26: International Dog Day

• Thursday, August 28: Power Ranger Day
• Friday, August 29: National Sports Day attire

Rees Elementary

Flem Rees Elementary School opened its doors to 650 students on August 20, 1983. It was the thirteenth elementary school built in the Alief Independent School District. In 2024, Rees Elementary began it's transition to a Performing and Visual Arts Academy.
