Dear WP Families,

As we head into the final days before Spring Break, we are looking forward to a short but meaningful week together!

Please note that there will be no school Friday, April 3, 2026 through Sunday, April 12, 2026. 🌸

We hope this upcoming break provides your family with time to relax, recharge, and enjoy one another’s company. Whether you are traveling somewhere new or enjoying the comforts of home, we encourage you to slow down and make special memories with those you love. We can’t wait to hear all about it when we return!

Please take a moment to read through this week’s newsletter, which includes a QR code for ordering this year’s yearbook as well as a Save the Date for our STEAM Night in May!

Thank you for your continued support β€” we look forward to another great week of learning together!

Best,

WSCSD Climate Survey! πŸ’šπŸ’›πŸ’™ WSCSD Climate Survey! πŸ’šπŸ’›πŸ’™

Dear West Seneca Central School District Families,

Over the last few weeks, we have been conducting a survey to measure school climate as part of the ESSA requirements related to the school accountability system. We believe that multiple measures depict a more accurate representation of the overall effectiveness of the school district. Adding school climate to the existing academic test measures and graduation rates will help us determine how we can improve as a learning community.

There are three separate metrics that make up the measure of school climate:

  • Chronic Absenteeism - The percentage of students who are absent ten percent or more of the possible school attendance days.
  • VADIR - The number of violent and disruptive incidents that occur in each school annually is the second element on which data will be reported.
  • Perception Data - The perception of students, parents, teachers, and support staff on the overall climate of the school with which they are associated.

Students in grades 3-12 across the district have been participating in a student survey during the school day. We are respectfully requesting that parents/guardians complete the survey online, at your convenience - if you haven't already done so.

The survey is live and will close next week Thursday, April 1, 2026.

The data collected in this survey will be used to set goals to facilitate school and district improvement plans as related to school climate, specifically student and family engagement.

We strongly believe the survey data will provide a rich source of information that can be analyzed by teachers and administrators to help us make continuous improvements.

We thank you for your participation and help with this task!

Sincerely,

Dr. Lisa Krueger
