A little BUZZ from the principal
What a LOVELY Month We Have Had!
Dear Families,
We have a WONDERFUL Family Night planned for you on Thursday night! Come out for our night of COLOR, SOUND and MOTION as we celebrate our special area classes at NPES. We also have several wellness stations and food trucks! It's going to be a lot of fun for the whole family. Come out and see some of the different sides of your child's learning!
Once we got away from the snow/NTI days, we have had a great month of school! Some highlights are noted below:
- We celebrated 100 days of school!
- We held TWO mornings of Connections Breakfasts for families with students needing some support
- We had our annual Kids Heart Challenge event - it was AMAZING!
- We have raised right at $7000 for the American Heart Association and we will collect donations still all week. I bet we can hit $8000!
- We had Valentine's Day celebrations
- We received hundreds of shoutouts from parents to staff
- We had donuts for our January PBIS reward
- We had our monthly assembly and discussed Black History Month/celebrating diversity
- and many great days of LEARNING!
This Wednesday is a high attendance day - SPACE THEMED! Wear your favorite space/alien/astronaut clothing/accessories or dress up if you want to! We want to have an OUT OF THIS WORLD learning day! All students who show up ON TIME will receive a super cool squishy space ball!

If your child is coming to KINDERGARTEN, make plans to attend!
We are so excited about our big preschool and kindergarten early registration day event! Each year, we register kindergarten students and have screeners for preschoolers in March. This is an important event for your children and our school! This year's event is March 6th from 9:00-2:00. If your child is coming to kindergarten, it is very important for him/her to attend this event. Even if your child is a current NPES preschooler, we still want you to attend. You will complete paperwork while we do some activities with your child. Your child will also get free gifts and items to take home! We can't wait to see you there.

Last Call for Donations!
Our event was this Friday and it was AMAZING! The students LOVED all the cool stations in the gym. HUGE thanks to Coach Ace for making it a successful event AND to retired HCS PE teacher, Kermit Olive, for his assistance. Mr. Olive donated many resources needed for the stations and a great deal of personal time to make it a success. We are so thankful for our community partners such as Mr. Olive!!!
We are accepting donations until Friday so that we can hopefully reach our final goal of $8000.

The Kids Heart Challenge (formerly Jump Rope for Heart) is part of the American Heart Association and a tradition here at NPES!
Coming to School is OUT OF THIS WORLD!
We want to have phenomenal attendance on Wednesday, February 25th, as we wrap up the month and our attendance competition against Radcliff Elementary. Wear your favorite space, alien or astronaut gear that day!

We LOVE seeing students reading at home with their families!!!! Our tree is looking a little sad - it needs more LEAVES this month. Read together at home and send in your leaves!

This month's PBIS reward is SNOW CONES!
HCS Out-of-District Application Closes on February 28th
If you want your child to be considered to attend a school out of district, you MUST apply by February 28th. The link is available on the Hardin County Schools website. If you need help in any way, please call our school office and ask for our registrar, Ms. Arnold.
