Dear Weston Intermediate School Community,

I am pleased to announce the appointment of James Bruni as the next Assistant Principal of Weston Intermediate School, effective October 20, 2026.

Mr. Bruni is a familiar face at WIS, having joined the district in 2025 as Curriculum and Instruction Leader for Science and Math in grades 3-5. In this new role, he will bring a wealth of experience in elementary education, instructional leadership, and curriculum development, along with a strong connection to the WIS school community.

Prior to joining the Weston Public Schools, Mr. Bruni served in a variety of educational roles, including elementary classroom teacher, academic interventionist, instructional coach, and curriculum designer. He also serves as an adjunct instructor in the Department of Curriculum and Learning at Southern Connecticut State University.

Superintendent Erica Forti expressed her enthusiasm for Mr. Bruni’s appointment, stating, “James brings strong instructional leadership, a collaborative approach, and a genuine commitment to student success. He has already made meaningful contributions to Weston Intermediate School, and I look forward to seeing him continue to grow as a leader in this new role.”

Principal Jennifer D’Amico shared Ms. Forti’s enthusiasm. “Mr. Bruni has been a positive presence at WIS, supporting math and science instruction and building strong relationships with both students and staff,” she said. “I am excited to partner with him as he shares his talents in this new role.”

Mr. Bruni holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, a Master’s degree in Education, and a Sixth Year Certificate in Educational Coaching from Southern Connecticut State University. He earned his intermediate administrator credential through the program at Sacred Heart University.

Mr. Bruni was appointed by the Board of Education at its regular meeting on October 19, 2026. In response he shared, “I am honored to serve in this capacity, and I look forward to all of the opportunities that are to come.”
