Mrs. Mangan's Message
Hi Lemme Families,
We had a short but busy week at Lemme! It is hard to believe we are already approaching the end of October!
Next week, we have some exciting things planned for our Leopards! We are looking forward to our next all-school PBIS assembly, where we will welcome the City High Spirit Squad! We are excited to celebrate our Leopard Core Values and show some school spirit together! We encourage students to wear your Lemme gear or wear black and gold for our assembly!
We will also end the week with All-School BINGO! Our Leopards will have the opportunity to play BINGO with their buddy classrooms.
As a reminder, fall conferences are just around the corner! Please take a moment to sign up for a conference time that works best for your family. The sign-up link and conference dates are included below. For students in 3rd-5th grade, please sign up for a conference with your homeroom teacher only. We are looking forward to connecting with you and celebrating your child's learning and growth!
Thank you for your continued partnership and for helping make Lemme such a special place for our students.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Proud to be a Leopard! 🐆
Warmly,
Mrs. Mangan
Flu Clinic
Lemme Flu Clinic is on Wednesday, November 4th.
The Iowa City Community School District will once again offer influenza (flu) vaccine clinics in our schools this year. This service will be provided through a partnership with Walgreens Pharmacy.
You can view the full clinic schedule and make an appointment on our district website.
On the day of your appointment:
Arrive at the school at your scheduled time.
Bring your pharmacy insurance card.
Individuals without insurance may qualify for a vaccine voucher through Walgreens and still receive a flu shot.
Children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
If you have questions about the influenza vaccine or need help registering for the clinic, please contact Walgreens Pharmacy at (319) 341-6153.

Conferences
Fall conferences are just around the corner! We are excited to connect with you and celebrate all the learning and growth our Leopards have made so far this school year!
Conferences will be held on Thursday, November 12th, and Wednesday, November 18th. We will offer both in-person and Google Meet options to accommodate families. Each conference will be 20 minutes long. If you have a student in 3rd-5th grade, you will sign up for only 1 conference with the homeroom teacher.
Please use the link below to sign up for a conference time that works best for your family.

We encourage students to attend conferences alongside their families so they can share their learning, celebrate their successes, and talk about their goals and next steps.
We look forward to partnering with you and celebrating the wonderful things happening at Lemme!
Boundary Analysis/Financial Planning Work
As the district continues its boundary and enrollment analysis and financial planning work, we encourage families and staff to visit our Forward Together webpage. This page serves as a central resource for the latest updates, timelines, meeting materials, frequently asked questions, and opportunities for community input. We will continue updating the page as this work progresses.
School Breakfast
Dear Parents,
As the weather turns colder, a warm, healthy meal is a great way to start the day! We invite your children to join us for breakfast daily. A warm, nutritious morning meal helps keep students energized, focused, and ready to learn throughout the chilly morning. Help your child start their day off right!
Breakfast Serving Times: 7:35am
Breakfast Price: $2.45 full priced, $.40 reduced

A Note from Our Orchestra Teacher: Mrs. Klein
Greetings!
With conferences coming up, I wanted to take a moment to reach out to everyone.
Conference times for the district will be:
Thursday November 12th, 2:20 pm - 7:00 pm
Wednesday November 18th, 7:40 am - 7:00 pm
I will be present in person at Hoover Elementary during these times and would love to meet with you in person if you would like to (even if your child attends another school). I can also do a Google Meet meeting at any point if you prefer, but can also see about traveling to other schools if you’d like to meet in person there (this would be dependent on other in-person conferences I have scheduled). With 7 schools of students to cover, travel can get quite tricky on these two days, but I will do my best to get you the meeting style you prefer.
Please email me to schedule a time so that I know I will be available for you.
If you don’t feel the need to speak with me in person or via Google Meet but would still like to know how your child is doing in Orchestra, I would be happy to write you a personalized message. Please email me to request an email update, as well.
In general, we’ve been making a lot of progress! We've been focusing a lot on our foundational techniques to help us be more successful quicker down the line, and I really appreciate their patience and attention as we've done that!
The Winter Concert will be Thursday December 3rd at 6:30pm in the Opstad Auditorium at City High School. Please plan to have your child(ren) to City High by 5:45pm so that we can tune everyone and do a quick warmup on stage prior to the concert. We ask that students dress a little nicer for the concert than they would for a typical school day, but it certainly doesn't need to be a stressor for them - while 3-piece suits and ballgowns are not required, if that's what your child would like to wear, that's great, too! That being said, I'd rather have your student there than to not, so please don't let the outfit stop them from coming to show off what they've accomplished so far.
It is so important for students to be practicing at home since I don’t get to see them for very long each week. The quicker they can make individual progress at home, the quicker we can make large group progress together at school. I recommend about 20 minutes a day to students, but have told them that any time is better than no time, so if all they have is 5 minutes free, that would be great!
I’m always happy to address any questions or concerns that you may have, so please feel free to email me at any time.
Thank you so much, and I look forward to hearing from you!
