To be nominated for THSCA, a student must be a senior high school athlete, trainer, or manager and have an overall GPA of 92 or above including courses from grades 9-11 and courses completed from grade 12 at the time of nomination.
When reviewing the nominations, the THSCA considers each students’ GPA, class rank, SAT and/or ACT score. The students receive points based on each criteria. The total number of points they receive determines which team they are placed on. #WalmartAllState
To be nominated for TASCO, a student must be a senior and must be in good standing with the soccer program. They must also be in the top 10% of graduating class or have a 90 average on a 100 point scale for all 4 years enrolled in high school.
GISD is approved for Teacher Incentive Allotment
Gainesville ISD received notification that our Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) Plan has been fully approved by the Texas Education Agency (TEA). Under House Bill 3, the TIA program provides a realistic pathway for top-performing teachers to earn higher salaries and helps districts retain and attract highly effective teachers.
The district began the work of designing, developing and implementing a TIA plan in the Fall of 2024 before applying to join the program in Spring of 2025. The local plan focuses on math and reading/language arts (RLA) with plans to expand to other content areas in the future.

GISD new student registration round up!
Parents of students who will be 3, 4 or 5 years of age before September 1, 2026 are encouraged to register as soon as possible. All 4-year-old students entering Pre-K and 3 and 4-year-old students entering Head Start must meet eligibility requirements as required by Texas law.
Edison and Head Start staff will be available to answer any enrollment eligibility questions, assist with online registration, and to accept enrollment documentation. To expedite registration, families of Kindergarten students are encouraged to complete the online registration prior to the round-up, and to bring supporting documentation to complete the student’s registration. Computers will also be available for online registration if the process is not able to be completed prior to the event. If the family currently has a student in the district, please add a new student to the existing parent portal account. If a parent portal account does not yet exist, go to gainesvilleisd.org/registration and create a new account.
Documentation requirements include: parent identification, child’s social security card, birth certificate, proof of residency, immunization record, and proof of income (to determine Pre-K eligibility).

Nominate at GISD staff member for a High Five Award!
The Leopard High Five program is a way to salute any Gainesville ISD employee who goes above and beyond for our students, staff, and community. Whether you are a parent impressed with a specific interaction with your child, or you are a coworker who thinks the campus secretary doesn't hear often enough about the great job she is doing - you can send a Leopard High Five! Nominations can be made by any staff member, parent, or community member, and any GISD employee is eligible to be nominated for a High Five.
All nominations should include a specific example of how this staff member has gone above and beyond for a student, a peer, or the community and must align with one or more of our GISD core beliefs: Equity, Excellence, Diversity, Innovation, Partnership, Safe and Comfortable Environment.
