Phillip's Message
As a building, overwhelming we are off to a great start. Our students and staff have been amazing and are doing a great job. We are currently working through our MAP testing, which we use to assess students' knowledge and abilities. Our staff will use this information to focus on areas of growth, as well as come up with enrichment opportunities for areas of strength. We are a data focused school that works to focus on each of our students area of needs and area of growth.
If your student had a schedule change, it is because of our size and trying to even out classes. With our size, scheduling is very difficult and we had to create a couple of new classes, while also eliminating some classes due to staffing. This causes a ripple effect throughout schedules, so your student’s schedule may have been tweaked because of this. We should be done with this and have stability going forward.
Our Fall sports of Volleyball and Football are in full swing and I hope everyone can come out and cheer on our wonderful student athletes.
I appreciate your patience and working with us as we started this year. There are always some hiccups, but at the building level we have been working through them. Please continue to reach out to myself or any of my team if you have any questions or need support.

It has been such an amazing start to the school year. I have already had the opportunity to get to know some of your students. We have been getting to set the tone of expectations and even started planning out future incentives. I am already getting ready for our homecoming parade with a special surprise fairy tale theme. I even got to go to the Friday night football game, and watch our Lady Raiders play volleyball last week. Just a few things to remind your students: Remind them that language is so important and verbal threats are taken very seriously, and lastly remind them to take advantage of all the great fun projects we have in our classrooms. I am excited to begin popping into classrooms. Let’s have a great start to the quarter!
Harlan's Headquarters
Hello WRJH Families,
It has been a wonderful start to the school year and I have enjoyed starting to build relationships with you and your students. It is a great feeling to have the students back in the buildings! We have spent the first couple of weeks setting our expectations in order for your student to be successful here at WRJH. Please review with your students about our three big expectations of being safe, responsible, and respectful in all settings. I look forward to getting into the classrooms to see all of the exciting stuff that our teachers have planned. As always please reach out if you have any questions! Go Raiders!
Hilsheimer’s Hello
Hello WRJH Families!
What a fantastic start to the school year! I’ve been incredibly impressed by our students and how quickly they’ve settled into positive routines. Thank you for the warm welcome. It's been a pleasure getting to know our WRJH community of students, families, and staff.
As we move forward, I’m excited to continue building relationships and watching our students learn and grow. Please take a moment to review our school-wide expectations with your child: Be Responsible, Be Safe, and Be Respectful. These core values guide everything we do and help create a positive environment for everyone.
Here’s to a great year ahead!
Warm regards,
Mr. Hilsheimer

Cell Phone Policy
Cell Phone/Personal Electronic Device policy: Students must turn off and keep their devices put away throughout the day. Including headphones, tablets, earbuds etc.
Here are procedures:
If it is out, the student will be asked to put the device away.
If the device comes out a second time or the student refuses, the student will be asked to put the device on the teacher's desk until the end of class.
If the student refuses to put the device on the desk until the end of the period, administration will come and remove the device to the office. The student will be able to pick up the device at the end of the day.
If the student argues and refuses with administration, the student will be brought to the office and will receive consequences for insubordination.
We have a dedicated office phone that students can use when needed as long as they do not abuse this. Additionally, if you call the office we will call down students or take messages for you to reach your students. Please understand that cell phones and personal electronic devices have become a massive distraction for our students and negatively impact their learning, so we are trying to focus on our students being in a position to be successful with this policy.
Thank you
