National Principal's Month
October is National Principals Month, and we are proud to recognize Mr. Mark Sims for the many hats he wears as the leader of Endeavor. Each morning, he sets the tone with a warm fist bump for every student, showing that relationships matter and everyone belongs here.
His commitment to creating a welcoming, nurturing environment ensures that all students are given the opportunity to succeed if they choose to embrace it. Mr. Sims models the core beliefs and practices of an effective principal—fostering trust, celebrating growth, supporting teachers, and encouraging a positive school culture where both students and staff thrive.
As Dr. Hill stated, "at Channelview ISD, our principals are more than school leaders, they are mentors, motivators, and role models who inspire both students and staff. Their dedication and commitment make a lasting difference in our classrooms, campuses, and community." Here at Endeavor, Mr. Sims embodies those traits.
Parent Conference Day
Parent conferences will be held on Thursday, October 9, from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Parents of students who are not performing well in a class will receive a personal invitation from their child’s teacher. However, any parent who would like to meet with a teacher is welcome to do so by calling the Endeavor front office at 281-457-0086 to schedule a time.
Celebrating National School Custodians Day at Endeavor High School
October 2 is recognized nationwide as National School Custodians Day, a special time to honor Blanca Gonzalez, Liliana Carrazana, and Guadalupe Segura. They are hardworking individuals who keep our schools safe, clean, and welcoming for students, staff, and visitors each day. At Endeavor High School, we are truly grateful for our custodial team, whose efforts often go unnoticed but are vital to the success of our school.
From ensuring classrooms are ready for learning, to keeping hallways spotless, to maintaining a safe environment for all, our custodians play an essential role in creating a positive atmosphere where students can thrive. They go above and beyond daily—often arriving early, staying late, and handling unexpected challenges with dedication and care.
On this day, and every day, we want to express our heartfelt appreciation to our custodial staff. Their hard work, commitment, and pride in maintaining our campus make Endeavor High School a better place for everyone. Thank you for all you do—you are truly valued and celebrated!

New Scholarship Resources for High School Students
Access Scholarships is a free scholarship and college resource platform for student. Their goal is to connect high school students with scholarship opportunities and other financial aid resources to to help them navigate the (often complicated) world of higher education.
In addition to the scholarship search and directory (with over 10,000 scholarships in their database-they add to everyday), they have several resources specifically geared towards high school students.

ACT/SAT Info
What is the ACT/SAT test?
Both the SAT and the ACT are nationally administered, standardized tests that help schools evaluate your application and see how prepared you are for college courses. The SAT and ACT generally cover the same topics. Both ACT and SAT scores are used for college admissions decisions and awarding merit-based scholarships. Most colleges do not prefer one test over the other. Neither the SAT nor ACT is harder than the other. Different students tend to do better on one test than the other.
Ask Mrs. Jackson or Mrs. Salinas for more information.
