Pictures from the Proviso West High School Class of 2025 Luncheon captured a joyful celebration as students enjoyed a beautiful brunch featuring a variety of delicious food. Surrounded by their classmates and staff, seniors had the opportunity to reflect on their journey and cap off a successful four-year tour. The event featured inspiring speakers, lively music, and a festive atmosphere, making it a memorable occasion for all who attended. It was truly a celebration enjoyed by everyone.
The Proviso West Staff vs. Student Basketball Game capture a fun-filled afternoon of team building, friendly rivalry, and school spirit. While the students claimed victory, the real win was the excitement, laughter, and competitive spirit shared by all. With packed stands and energy in the air, the game brought staff and students together for a fun and memorable competition where fun mattered more than the final score.

Real Talk, Real Jobs: A journey Through Careers
Mr. Herman Walters, a dedicated Business Communications and Consumer Education teacher, has launched an inspiring speaker series to expose students to diverse career paths and life lessons. Through this initiative, students have heard from engaging professionals including a representative from the Army Reserve, a woman in the field of mortuary science who operates a family-owned funeral business, and a dynamic motivational speaker who emphasized the importance of mentorship and self-belief. These sessions not only open students' eyes to various “fields of work,” but also encourage them to dream big and plan wisely for their futures.

Spotlight on Drawing and Painting: Enlarging with Durer’s Grid
Students in Mr. Shipley’s Drawing and Painting class at Proviso West recently explored a classic artistic technique using a Durer’s Grid—named after the famed artist Albrecht Durer—to create stunning enlarged drawings. Each student selected a 5” x 7” black and white photo and used the grid method to accurately enlarge their image to 10” x 14”. To bring their work to life, they added depth and dimension through detailed shading with ebony pencils and blending stumps, showcasing impressive skill and artistic growth.

Summer School registration for 2025 is now open! Complete your registration between
April 1 and May 31 to avoid late fees. Summer School will be held at Proviso East and Proviso West High Schools. Credit Recovery will take priority. Sessions will be held Monday–Thursday, from 8 AM – 1 PM.
Once your registration is submitted, the registration fee will be added to your student's PowerSchool account. You will have until May 31 to make the payment online or in person at your school’s main office. After May 31, a late fee will be applied.
Early Registration: Registration forms submitted by May 31 will incur a $100 fee.
Late Registration: After May 31, a $125 late fee will be applied.

¡La inscripción para la Escuela de Verano 2025 ya está abierta! Complete su inscripción entre el 1 de abril y el 31 de mayo para evitar tarifas adicionales. La Escuela de Verano se llevará a cabo en Proviso East y Proviso West High School. La recuperación de créditos tendrá prioridad. Las clases se impartirán de lunes a jueves, de 8 a.m. a 1 p.m.
Una vez que se haya enviado su inscripción, la tarifa de inscripción se agregará a la cuenta de PowerSchool de su estudiante. Tendrá hasta el 1 de junio para realizar el pago en línea o en persona en la oficina principal de su escuela. Después del 1 de junio, se aplicará un cargo adicional por pago tardío.
